I was counting on that when I bought the car but now i don't think it will. The legends were a true "Legend".

Correct on the Ohio thing.

Made in America = "Some lazy guy eating hamburgers and hot dogs and rushing to get out of work at 5PM even if my trunk lid isn't aligned properly and my door panel loose and rattling"

Made in Japan = "Some poor Japanese dude working his ass off so his family can survive in a hyper-competitive environment and he knows if he makes one mistake he will be dishonored and his head will be cut off therefore my trunk lid and door panels are fucking PERFECT."

I'll take made in Japan.

Legend will definitely hold a higher resale value than the CL or the TL. Here are the reasons from my opinion since I own a 1990 Legend and a 2000 TL:

Legend - Make in Japan
Higher quality leather
Leather Interior roofing
Better paint quality
Interior Lights (Dome, Rear reading)
Tilt Headrest (Both front & back)
Memory seats (3 presets)
No major squeaky noises
Real fog lights (optional)
Better steering wheel design (horn)

TL or CL - Make in Ohio, USA
Poor leather quality
Cloth interior roofing
Poor paint quality
No dome or rear reading lights
No tilt headrest front or back
No memory seats (99-01 TLs)
All sorts of Squeaky noises
No fog lights (99-01 TLs)
Fake fog lights (00-01 CLs)
Poor steering wheel design (horn)

Sorry about the long list!

The 2 door Legends are also a lot more rare and sought after. Also, many would argue that Honda has yet to match the Legend Coupe. Acura's got less desirabe after they retired the Legend so people weren't exaxtly flooding the market with used Legends so they could buy RL's and TL's.

legends are sweet cars, and just like a 300zx, they are special. it sucks that the best cars are discontinued!

The Legend will hold its value better but I think for a different reason.... look what replaced it?? The lame-azz RL!??! Yeah, I know... I've praised the RL in the past... and I still think its a decent value. But the thing is that the "spirit" of the RL is just sooooooo different than the "spirit" of the Legend. Most of the Legend owners have just held onto their cars instead of trading up to the RL. Likewise, people who would normally be interested in the new RL would rather have an older Legend and hence the prices are driven up. Believe me, if the next gen CL became an even mushier old fart car then the value of the 2nd gens would rise as well. That's probably not gonna happen though and I actually hope it doesn't - I'd rather see Acura keep its shit together and keep putting out great cars like the CL. I love the old Legends, but people really put them up on a pedestal sometimes. Fact is, they're not really any higher quality than anything else Acura puts out, it's just they continuously get compared to the RL and ya gotta admit... they look pretty nice compared to it.

although our CLS can't compete with Lengend in bluebook value, but I think it is still one of the top best bluebook values... after all, it is a Acura, and so far, the car has been exellent in quality. I would expect this be in the same league as Accord in terms of depreciation rate.

No way will the CL-S hold its value like the Legend...First reason is that the Legend cost about $10,000 more than the CL-S new...Better Leather, More solid feel, Luxury with speed to match the aggressive styling of the coupe...It is however outdated compared to the newer cars in its class but a still desired car...I sold my Legend Coupe with 125,000 miles on it for $12,500 which isnt bad considering a car with that many miles and minor key scratches on the car

I don’t think the CL will hold it’s value anywhere near the Legend Coupe.
My Legend was built WAAAAY better then my CL is.

I sold my 91 Coupe privately last May when I bought the CL-S.
It had 110,000 miles on it and I still got 11,500 bucks.
The dealer offered me only 8,000 as a trade.
I sometimes regret selling it because it had a TRUE 5-Speed manual.

The CL-S is definitely faster and handles better then the 91 Coupe.
Mine only had the 200HP engine, 15” wheels and 5-Speed.
I don’t know how much better the 95’s were with 230HP, 16” wheels and a 6-Speed.

I’m not too awful concerned about resale value right now, I just hope it runs to 100K without any major “domestic vehicle” problems.
