Wierd Vibration Finally Diagnosed.......2 Screwed Motor Mounts

Well, after some awful suspensions woes causing serious steering wheel vibration/jerking...............I brought my car into my buddy's shop. He tood it for a test drive and came back laughing:

He pops the hood of his 300zx, turns the car on, puts it in drive, and applies a little throttle while pushing out the brakes. He says "you see how the engine stays in place? Now lets look at yours!" Pop my hood and go through the same routine.......and holy shit my engine starts jumping in place when the slightest throttle is applied! Diagnosis: 2 motor mounts (right-side and front/bottom) are FUCKED!

Has anybody had this happen to them yet? Since I am already replacing them, are there any upgraded ones I could purchase instead? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!!

the front motor mount are very common on tl's cl's and mdx's.....they leak the fluid (hydraulic mounts) however.....I've NEVER seen a right side mount go in the 4 years of working at Acura.....even the year spent at Saturn. Right side mounts are more of a lateral support for alignment purposes...the front and rear mounts are what takes the abuse of gear shifting on parking, etc....Try and just replacing the front only and see what hapens....unless you can clearly see a tear in the side mount. Come to think of it....how long have you had suspension problems or noises....cause a severly blown front mount can cause a tear in the side mount. Also check the rear cause I've done a few of those as well.

I have had noises for a long time, but the serious/dangerous vibrations......only about a week (drove the car maybe 4 times).

the tear on the right side is clearly visible when the engine jumps!

Is that what happened to your car? What did you use for replacements? OEM or aftermarket?

TypeR, weren't you looking into adding the 6spd motor mount in addition to the stock front mount? What ever came of that?
