Why wouldnt you buy this?

Looking at this I would think for as cheap as ur getting it you could spend some good money on tuning and buy the right management parts and come out to save a couple grand and still have a decent powerful car.

It was discussed a while back. This is the same Ebay set ssautochrome was selling. Their "kits" are garbage from what I've heard & searched. Parts that don't fit right, or break within months. No kind of fuel management included as well.

But no one has bought 1 & seen on a CL. Maybe it's different, like the headers

If I can remember correctly the kit was ripped off from one of the members on here.

Why don't you try it, everybody here has speculated that its crap but we won't know for sure unless someone here puts it on. Obviously you'll need more than just the parts listed.

from what I've heard the BOV breaks in about 2 days to a week and the power you get is as if you built a custom turbo set up with a cheaper turbo than the GT35r. It will be all low end power probably not all throughout the power band. The turbo they use might be good for a 4 banger but not a V6. You're right the ecu and fuel managament is another issue which is not addressed. The stock ECU probably will either flood it with fuel or starve it out.

well...

The two problems I see with it, is the downpipe clearance(new custom one would be about 400 bucks or so) and the turbo size being too small. Keep in mind, this is possibly the same people whom make the XS power headers. I have comptechs on my tl so I'm not familiar with the XS power headers or how long it will last. I will say it could be worth the money, but I would change the DP for clearance reasons(also if I remember correctly, ryan said it wasn't 3 inches) and also get a bigger turbo. At least a Precision SC61 which is similar to the GT35r but not Dual ball bearing.

I think it could work, just requires some modification to make it a "better" kit then what it is.

Well even with the modifications mentioned we're still coming way in under the $7k mark asked for other turbo setups. Plus this isn't a one of a kind kit so if it works out for someone, others could follow.

He's not too far from me, too bad I couldn't sell him my turbo kit and had to sell it elsewhere

Honestly, I'd just save the money and have a custom job done a year down the road. It's much better than throwing away close to a grand because even though the kit itself is only $500, you'll need atleast $500 in additional parts, nevermind repairing whatever breaks. Money well spent is a car much more enjoyable.
