Why no one other than Comptech makes a CLS Headers?

The only headers in town are from Comptech.

There is DC Sports, Edlebrock and half a dozen other headers manufacturer. The CLS is out for more than 1 year, now we have the TLS, why no one is making good quality headers at very competetive price, say $500-$600?

Anyone guess?

cause they went to the bill gates school of business, and just threatened the lives and family members of any one who tried to offer a competitive product

Well...why try to put the R&D into something that Comptech dominantes? I mean if you can get around 20 hp gains in an Accord...you pretty much have maxed it out. Since Comptech was the first...and are dyno-proven....no other company wants to enter a small market like ours.

well a couple of arguements to that statement might be one now with the 98+ accord v-6 99+ tl and 01 + cl there are 8 combined years of models this product would bolt right on and as far as R&D what R&D if they wanted they could simply copy bend for bend and just produce it for less and bam!

Yeah...but the bigger companies have reputations too! Plus...once someone dynos it and it isn't set up to flow as well as the Comptech ones...the other company just lost out on a lot of money...for designing the casts for the header parts.

Yes, but I think many people, including myself, will be willing to pay half price at the expense of a couple HP.

Not only that, there is potential for more HP gains from headers that are bent differently (at least that is what I read here. Not sure how reliable the source was. Just throwing the idea out there )

I think its because this car was intended for older folks, like 35-45 years of age, however, it didn't go that way ! So these companies (Ebach, Nuespeed, Comptech) are watching the market to see what Acura is going to do about it. Let face it, we (Acura-cl) is a "small", but growing group, way under the age that Acura marketed this car for. So, Comptech, jumped the gun and is getting all the business. Because now that the car is NOT selling as expected, would you "invest" in afermarket products for our car ? I think we need to wait and see what Mr. Elliot is going to do about A-poor sales, b-weak transmissions and C-NO manual or goodies !

Just my 02cents !
