Why is honda such pussies?
why is acura such pussies, they dont want to make a Cl anymore, y? inifinti has had success with the G35c. Ok what about the new TL, y no RWD or AWD? Y no new DOHC motor, i no acura can make SOHC'c but with the SOHC's we still get preety shitty gas miliage. why cant acura wake up make a TL-s with 320hp RWD and a CL-s with 330hp and RWD, what are they so scared off? y are there no Type R models in North America? we get the shitty offroad american built type s (which is nice, but not for real enthuisaists) Acura/Honda needs to wake the fuck up or the new millenium car sales will all go to nissan.

Ok. A little upset? Acura/Honda just may have their reasons, conservative comes to mind. As a lot of buyers of this brand seem to think that these cars are nice, comfortable and very reliable and are not looking for performance. but then again, not too long ago their slogan was "Honda, We Make It Simple"

there's no reason for acura to make a TL or CL with RWD or AWD plus 300+hp. Don't forget that TLs and CLs are more luxury than sporty
there's not even a market for such things in the 30k range.

CL is supppose to be a luxury sports coupe...
it's FWD
it's not very sporty (kinda handles like a boat)
Enthusiasts, which are younger *unmarried* males. Are going to go for the higher HP, better balanced, RWD sports coupe. Before the FWD, badly balanced CLS sled...
The CLS is nice, but I think it was 2 years too early without much competition at the time...
for a FWD car it's nice, but in all honesty is has shit besides nicer wheels on the newer accord... Style is *obviosuly* arguable... but they do look close to one another ...
The CLS is great for the $$.. Maybe Acura should have concentrated on the luxury side of the car more. To give it an big edge over the G35... G35's luxury is a bit lacking... but still adecent interior...
I personally find the G35 to be a better looking car... especially with the 18" wheels...
flame away...

I'ts alot better looking than the new accord in more ways than the wheels. The quality of the interior/leather alone makes it better. I actually like the new accord wheels though.

I hate the fact that Acura pulled the CL from the line up, but I think Acura knew they were not prepared to build a coupe that could compete with the G35 so they ran to live to fight another day (hopefully)
And remember boys, the first name in luxury sport is luxury. If you want a sports car buy one.

Its kind of funny now that you mention nissan that our premium motor which is the 3.5 found the RL can be found in an altima,max,pathfinder,350Z, g35, etc......, Bascially our highest displacement motor is found on almost every model nissan not that they are the target honda is after is but still. Anyone else notice that.

It handles sort of like a Boeing 737-800. Not SUV, large car, truck-like or bouncy suspension like the Boeing 747 or Boeing 777. But then again, definitely not a true sports car handling like a regional Embraer jet.

I'm going back to RWD, but since my CLS is paid for, it'll won't be for a couple of years (have to beat the initial depreciation hit).
Now if Acura come out with an AWD coupe in 2007 or so...

honda does a great job on building cheaper cars, like accord, civic, integra etc. but they try to use that same winning formula on there luxury cars, it doesn't WORK. the Accord rite now has more features then the old TL, and the new TL is nice but overpriced, not worth the leap in price for a few extra goodies

for the money its great 31k, don't forget guys they will not overcome the ----------290------------- horse because that would exceed the horse power on their supercar the NSX that only has 290 hp so till they give the nsx the 400horse it needs they will not make a cl or tl or anything for that matter with more that 280 horse!!!1

Why don't you mention Toyota?
Where have they been...???
IS300...I think not. Celica...no way. Where is Toyotas model in this line up? A Solara?...Yeah right...
I'd like to see Toyota put some shit down to mix things up a bit(ala $30>35K). We need a new Supra-like model that runs with the Z cars...that'd be hot.

first of all toyota has lexus.... and acura will never be like lexus.
and they are realiable as fuck... Everybody says honda/acura is realiable... i call that bullshit.. at least not from my experiences... my CL was the most UNREALIABLE car i had ever owned...all the important features of the car had failed at least once (except for the engine)... Brake, SRS (airbag), Tranny.

Porsche has the same problem w/ the Boxster. They can't up the Hp on the car without upping the Hp on the Carrera first. There has been rumors of a lightweight Boxster coupe (yep, with a hardtop), but if they make it a great bang for the buck, no one would buy the NA Carrera.

The day you guys realize that Acura is not aiming at us (except with the RSX, and partially the CLS-6) is the day we will have civilized conversation on this board. Acura's demographics with the CL, TL, RL, and MDX is mainly 40 years old plus. I'd venture a guess to say that maybe 5% of the members on this board may fit that range. That's also part of the reason that Acura has bumped up the price of the TL.... they're trying to upscale their image by raising the price and targeting older, higher worth individuals.
So the fact that many 20-30 year olds are complaining really doesn't matter to Acura, b/c that's not who they're going after with those cars. You'd also need to realize that by them sticking with FWD they can sell cars all over the country. Why do you think BMW and Mercedes are starting to offer AWD versions of their cars? So they can further penetrate cold weather markets. Most (not all, but most) people who live in areas with snow prefer FWD or AWD over RWD, so why would they abandon a formula that's made them one of the best selling entry level luxury car makers in the world? So you can drive RWD? I don't think so.
