Mr. Wildwolf:

I can't understand why you react so rudely to a very nice invitation from your neighbour from the North. I think ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM would definitely not do the same. I am quite disappointed at you.

Why do you think I should be jealous of you with all the cars I have? I am sorry, your Vette is not comparable to my Bentleys, MBs, Ferraris and Porsches anyway. Are you feeling a bit jealous now?

I took 2 pictures for all the doubters. One is of my driveway and includes my vehicles. The vette and the X5 are in the garage, the Accord and the CLS are in the driveway. There is a printout of Yahoo Finance from today on the rear window of my X5. The second picture is a zoom of that page (yahoo finance) where you can see the date, yesterdays closes on the markets and the wiper of the X5. I am not sure if this will work on the first try for me. I expect apologies from all who doubted!

To put it simple... people race cars because they like to- it's fun- whether it be a Ferrari F50 or a Ford Focus.

That guy could not drive for shit- No way even a mediocre driver pulls less than 14.5 in a Mustang Cobra.

Hey Wolf, just wondering, what are your personal bests 0-60 and 1/4 mile time in that Vette of yours?

I never did 0-60 but the 1/4 mile came up in 12.8 at 112 mph.

Hey Wolf, why buy a Vette, when for about $50,000 you could have a slightly used, but infinitely more refined '96 or '97 NSX? Seems like a guy like you with money and a taste for real performance would find a world-class car like the NSX to be much more appealing than the admittedly straight-line fast, but somewhat ponderous by today's supercar standards Vette.
:p

I've had A LOT of sports cars in my life so far. From an HKS Eagle Talon AWD to a Steeda Mustang convertible to a RX7 Turbo II race car etc, etc.... I really like Torque! The NSX is a nice car- don't get me wrong- but it's just not for me. Being in South Florida I wanted a convertible. I tried the Porsche but for me it was no fun to drive. Next year I might jump into the Viper or wait a year for the M3 with the V8 or wait another year until the C6 corvette. I am very happy with the vette and could see myself driving it for a few more years. It is a lot of fun!

It should go without saying that this is a very atypical situation. That guy either can't drive period, had some plug wires pulled or broke loose at the start and took it easy the rest of the run.

The one time I ran a CLS at the track (Tankmonkey), I fell asleep at the line and he tree'd me by a good .6-.7, once we hit the 8th mark, I was flying by and giving him the finger (in jest, we're freinds)...

Please don't take this as a flame against the CLS, they are great cars...FWD, smooth ride, amenities, fit/finish, interior, etc.
