why is this cl so cheap?

found this on auto trader but didnt know why it would be so cheap. looks like some stuff has been done but it looks good and the miles are low. maybe they are hiding something?

With that mileage and being a 6mt, that car should be listed around $9k or so...

dealers are in hard times they need a sale since most people are not buying new other than the rich, and besides are car isn't made anymore.

only thing I can think of.

Check his inventory stock, most of his cars are selling for 6-8k he might be going out of business.

I always thought the manuals were a bit more expensive than the automatics... especially on a coupe. They're more sought after, etc.

manuals are always cheaper than auto, because they are less complex to make.

^yup. But ppl now are lazy and don't prefer shifting all day and in traffic. I got my cl as a toy and not a dd. For a dd id get automatic/tip tronic. But not in a honda product, EVER

You're mostly right, but most sports cars have a premium attached now for manual trannies. Just another example of car companies fucking us!

exactly...thats why auto vettes, porches, ferraris, etc. are cheaper and far less sought after....hence lower prices in the marketplace. (particularly among purists)

Not sure about its past, but currently the rear center console is all tore up and the headlights are fogged up. Thats what I can see from those tiny pictures. I have a sneaking suspicion that something has happened to that car, especially with 29 records on the CarFax.

Its true that the manuals are more sought after, but the simple fact of the matter is there is a way smaller market for manuals because most people have no idea how to drive them.

I find it funny that a bunch of car people (you guys) did not realize this because the only people that would be on a site like this would care a lot about there cars and would be embarrassed to say they did not know how to drive standard, but just so im clear probably %99 of the people on this website probably know how to drive standard and %90 of the public probably doesnt I find this really funny tho, LMFAO

It also sad that were the minority being that we care about our cars

It has always been my opinion that if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

That being said, this car seems to good to be true lol.

I really like that car and thats what I paid for my 01 type s 2 years ago and if its been in an acident or whatever who cares make sure everything works put it on a host check it out and if everything works then who cares

BTW how much is a clutch because maybe the clucth is gone and it needs to be replaced thats whyits selling so cheap if thats what it was Im thinking 1.5-2.5- for a clutch that would be a good reason its so cheap !!!!

I'm thinking there's not much market in Snellville GA or the surrounding areas as opposed to bigger cities like Chicago where people have more and can pay more for cars on the whole.

I would agree with you if the internet was not the great equalizer in that regard. I bought my 6MT from ATL, and found it on craigslist. I think the marketplace, if not the world, is a much smaller place since the dawn of the internet and its integration into our daily lives.

Most likely a salvage. If it were an auto, I was going to say it probably needs a new tranny

This looks like a possible deal...
Private seller, 6mt, 109k miles for $7500.

They may not know the value...or may want a quick sale.

worth a look if anyone is interested...looks unmolested. [gry/blk/non-navi]

Only worth it if the 105k service has been done.

Ya, the internet has really changed buying a used car. (like it has really changed a lot of things in our lives) Now that my CL is smashed up and I'm waiting to hear if they will fix it or total it, I'm looking around at different cars for sale, at least to get some ideas. I'm not just looking at cars in Milwaukee (where I live) and Chicago that are for sale, like I probably would have done before the internet, I'm looking at cars in NJ, California, Florida, all over the place. Sure, I'd much prefer finding one in Milwaukee or Chicago, but if I see one I really like, I wouldn't think twice about hopping on a place and flying to LA or Miami or wherever and driving the car home. (I guess you'd have to say that airfares staying relatively cheap also is a part of it, because if it cost say, $1500 or $2000 to fly from Milwaukee to LA, I wouldn't bother looking for a $10,000 or less car there)

One thing I really wish they would do is to come up with a way to search craigslist across the country in a single search. Right now, if you are looking for CL's, you have to type in "Acura CL" in each and every city you think of. Even worse, for LA, you have to do it once for LA and then again for Orange CO. Craigslist would be really cool if you could search nationwide, right now it would take hours.

Xmas has come early for you my friend...

Google "search craigslist nationwide"....or "search all of craigslist"

That's how I found my 6mt in ATL
