why cant we have this?

in the lattest superbike mag(european) they test rader detectors, the one that caught my attention is one that has gps built in and has the location of every photo rader, traffic camera, and any fixed mounted speed montiring device icludig known vascar areas, in its memory when you aproach one it beeps and tells you the distance it was like 500 pounds(dont know what it in $$$) but the coolest part is it has a port to plug into your pc to download new locations from the company website. bel, or whislter has a simalar device their that incorpartes a regular detector, if any is intertesd i can maybee scann the article and post it here

Can you imagine the furor law agencies would have if we had access to that?? How cool it would be to be able to download the latest "donut shops" when planning a trip into unknown territory. Gotta luv GPS.

I usually drive about 220 miles to JMU everyother weekend. and everytime I see a cop i save the location in my navi. and next time i make a trip i just added to my "today's destination" (have about 30 entries now) that way I know how far the next location will be. This saved my ass about 5 or 6 times, since we can't have a radar detector here in va.

I don't know about where you guys live, but in my neck of the woods, the troopers move--a lot! That thing would be drivin' me crazy if all it did was warn me 30 times as I drove down the road as to "potential" hiding spots. Chrissakes, all you need to do is recognize that overpass embankments are great to hide behind, just like trees, ditches, etc. I still think 99% of not getting hit with a ticket is using your eyesight and mirrors a lot and relying in part on your trusty V1 to do the rest.
