who needs a radio anyway?

since the cl didnt come with a radio and i dont feel like buying an oem one or putting in an aftermarket one. and i need a place to put my gauges when i go turbo, so this is what i came up with. never seen this before on a cl/tl (from what i just come across, didnt search). this is gonna be a small project that will take some time since im in now hurry.

heres a template i made out of card board. i will cut it out of wood tomorrow.

that would be....different. The final finish wont be wood will it? Its a neat idea for a track car.

ive worked with fiber glass before and it sucks, itches, and hard to make it perfect (with bondo). this isnt a show car or anything. just something that will keep my info up.

nice! great idea! closest thing i've seen is someone putting guages below the "not an ashtray" spot and between the heated seat controls.

very nice. i'd be cool to see a setup of a line of gauges over top of an after market single din. I think that will turn out nicely.

Hell I used to hardly use the radio at all, but now that something random in my trunk decided to start rattling I use it all the time, haha

Dammit, I wish I remember what someone on my bike forum told me to search for, but theres a company that sells sheets of Carbon Fiber. That would make a hot filler panel.

And if for some reason not having a radio gets boring, someone on another forum used to have just speakers and a sub powered by an amp. No headunit. He connected his iPod directly to the amp using a 3.5mm to RCA cable and listened to music that way. Pretty discreet.

Wow, great idea! Can't wait to see the finished results! So you don't listen to music in your car not even through an ipod adapter?? I wouldn't survive... I always cruise with the windows down and the system up, I can't immagine no music..
