Negative...the clearance issue is with CL's. PM Mr.Hyde...he was one of teh first to have it in a TLS.

liqice has it on his tl-s. i dont think there is that much dif in the hood clearance. you might just need to take your hood liner off but

from my understanding it was Researched on a 01 CL-S and the clearance was not there.
TEIN is suppose to release TEINS SS-P, JAN 05... which is the TEIN ss with Pillow mounts..with the pillow mounts the EDFC is suppose to be compatable on the CL-S.
As for just running the EDFC for JUST the REAR on the CL-S.... no one is 100% SURE if the controller will work with ONLY 2 motors connected to it... for the simple fact the brain/controller resets to 0 (zero) every time the car is turned on, then goes to 1 of the 3 PRESETS that you have saved.
Now I was told if the Brain/controller does not work with only 2 of the EDFC motors plugged in, you can always hide the front 2 edfc motors(but honestly, I think that is GHETTO).... as for retrofitting the FRONT EDFC motors, if you crack open the motor casing it VOIDS the warranty...
Tein is strict with their parts.. if something breaks, they want it back to examine it and either replace it or fix it... I went the route, of trying to squeeze an extra controller so I could possibly split up an EDFC with a current member just so we could both use it for the REARS ONLY... and TEIN will not allow a controller to be sold seperately.

Actually it will work, just requires small cutting of the hood's skeleton

for sureIts alittle more than just the liner. It requires the skeleton of the hood to be cut. Nothing major, no risks involved, hood will still crush properly upon front end collision.

so did my post help you at all?... I obtained most of that information from talking to one of our vendors BLXMJX.
So you installed the EDFC with just trimming alittle with a cutting tool and grinder..
What problems if any are you having, is that why you opened the thread?

SMITTYYYYYY...HEYYYY . Long time my friend. All the times that I've had a close calls ur name has crossed my mind. So man how have u been?
Well this would not be for my CLS. I was asking here mainly because there is more of crowd that would have them on their Acuras of know of someone with an Accord that could help me in my venture.
Oh, and what car am I inquiring about for the instalation of a EDFC controller:
By the end of October I should be 450 RWHP all at a weight of 2900lbs
.And yes I sill have my POS, tranny blowing out, 100 shot, Swain Tech coated Stone Headers, '01 CLS
.Back on topic, if there is anyone that u guys know that runs an EDFC on any car if you could have them hit me up.

Oh man BLXMJX is still around. Geeze I've been gone for far toooooo long. I knew of some people on this board that had it done. I ran it by an old contact that I used to know down in Miami. Unfortunatly after I got the M Coupe I got too caught up in moding out a car that really love more performance, and lost contact.

Ooops sry maybe I sould clear up my last post. My contact took my advice to the installation of the EDFC and installed it, it works. I remember seeing it installed in his CLS. The cutting is minor and it will work.

Has anyone contacted TEIN about the SS-P lately?
I say that because it used to say on their website that the SS-P kit for the CL-S with the new upper mounts to hold the EDFC was "Now in development" for the CL-S.
But that was removed and the price is now listed and it does not say the "Now in development" anymore. Maybe they are out now.

I've been waiting for those dam pillow mounts to come out. Plus the ability for EDFC, but I didn't know about the cutting of the liner. I didn't think it was that simple of a fix.
