Who here has hit the Speed Governor?

I'm curious to see what your speedometer said when you felt the fuel shutoff.
I have hit it a few times and everytime the speedometer read 148/149.
But I had my Garmin Handheld GPS with me and it only read 145.

BTW: Only for the CL/TL/CLS/TLS, I'm just curious to see what you have read the speedometer at.

145mph, 150mph...either way that's fast enough. I wouldn't trust the CLs after 150mph

pgatour1,

150MPH and you don’t like to wear seat belts huh ??? You must not like your life too much.
But then again, I guess a wreck at that speed it wouldn’t much matter.

As for me, even since I got my springs installed I still don’t feel comfortable in the car much past 110-115.
I can cruise at 85-90 all day, but once past 100 it just gets too “squirrely.

Yeah shit at 150 the seatbelt will cut you in two if you crash, Your pretty much dead unless it's your lucky day. WHat I was saying about the seatbelt though is I don't like it on this car, but then again I did do 150 in this car plenty of times.

Lets see. What roads have I hit the governor on

I-8 In CA
I-5 In CA
I-10 In CA
I-8 in AZ
I-10 In AZ
101 in AZ
202 in AZ
I-17 in AZ

As far as governors in the Northeast to answer Scooters question better, I hit 155 in the XJR on
684 in NY
287 in NY
I-95 in NY
I-95 in CT

Alero hit Limiter on
A lot of highways in PA,MD,NJ,NY,CT, VT, DE.
Too many highways to list.

Are you crazy man??? 155 on I-95 in NY??? First of all, that highway is twisty, always crowded and full of cops. I have gotten 2 speeding tickets both near Mamaroneck for going 75... I have never gone above 80 on that road. Now I drive like an old lady

684 I can see, but 287 is also infested with Cops... Also these roads are WAY too crowded to go those speeds. You could easily get yourself and others killed

It's not like this is Montana

I-95 was always done late late at night coming home from somewhere in New Rochelle or from the Bronx. Dad has V1 in the XJR but not like that makes a difference at 155. 287 I have done that in the middle of the day, we'd hop on over to the westchester mall during lunch and about 5 of us would race there around 11am.

As for the First question you asked. The answer is Hell yeah I am.

Man, I don't know about that. I believe its anything over 100 here in Cali and the CHP will just haul your ass off for reckless driving.
