I still dont understand why nobody has installed some aftermarket fogs like Piaas to their 03' or even their 02' like I did
thought I would share some alternatives...these were installed in 7/02 over a year and a half ago

Whoa...when they are on do they look like they have huge circles around them? j/k
I plan on getting driving/fog lights in the spring. I figure that a NE winter does a job to them so I'll wait. Those look good. Are you pleased with them? Do they add anything? Do they have that "cat eye" look when you look at them from an angel?

I want to put them in my 03 but i'm just too lazy. However if i was to do it or get it done it would HAVE to be hooked up to the TL fog switch. If that couldn't happen i would even bother.
I hate aftermarket switches and the way they look in the dash.

I'd prob just have them come on with the parking lights. I don't need a seperate switch. The only fogs I've had before were on my Prelude and it was OEM fogs that my roomie and I put on. They lasted the 3 years I had the car. Are PIAA as reliable? They are a huge name but I am just wondering. You'd think that stock would last but I see a LOT of Caddies and Chevy's with LEDs out on their spoilers. :P I just don't want to buy fogs that I need to replace the bulb anually. Plus, you have to figure that 10% of the non-03 CLs have one light out in the driving light area (what do you call them? They are so weak?).

or like blackmagic said, to the parking lights .. also, PIAA is about as reliable as fog lights get .. however I don't really like aftermarket fog lights as a whole. when I had my explorer I went through like 4 sets of them. 2 really good pairs, and 2 halfway decent pairs .. housings kept rusting and bulbs burning out, etc...

Yeah see thats exactly what i'm talking about.
Can you turn them on even when the parking/headlights aren't on?
Love the lights and the switch looks sweet. Awesome job.

Looks great by the way. Also i notice you can turn them on without any other lights being on. Thats how i want mine too.

I have the stock switch that the PIAA's came with.
I was thinking of using the TL switch but I already have my glass break sensor and alarm LED in the spot where it would go, and I don't want to have to re-run those wires.
Plus I live in Phoenix the city of perpetual light so I never really use the lights anyway. The switch is kind of hidden on the side around where my right knee is.

Yeah thats the biggest reason people do that and it makes sense too. Even though i would like to have them running without any other lights on, well see. Thanks for the replies man.

There are a bunch of other ways to hook up the lights so you can have them on without any other lights, and have them turn off when the car is turned off.
My cl-s doesn't have navi, so I hooked up the turn on wire to the fuse that would normally be for the navigation system. This fuse is only powered with the key in the ignition. You can use pretty much anything that draws power to act as the turn on for the fogs.

so just in case the fuse blows the only thing it will effect is the lighter

I like the fact that you can drive with only the fogs on and the lights of the car off IMO

you know there is 2 switch for light. one for parking light and other for headlight.
if i trun the parking light only, the fog will be on and not the headlight.

you could run it so that they go on with the parking lights, but able to be turned on\off with the TL switch, and then go off when the car goes off, right? I'd assume the factory fogs on the TL work like this.
But then if you leave the switch ON, and you unlock the car, they will flash too right?

i think it easier since you don't have to push the switch everytime you want to turn the fog lights on.

IMO I would use the TL switch and wire it to the lighter fuse located on the drivers side. buy a 2 to 1 circuit and that covers that...the tl is a 2 circuit switch so it will light up during the night with the lights on. Having the fogs to the lighter makes it a totally seperate circuit that can be turned on at any time the ignition switch is on or the car is running.
