Where to buy Redline Oil?

I checked the website.. and the links I found only have 5w30. I'm looking for 5w20. If no one knows where I can get it then I'll just order from Redline... but I could have sworn I saw links on here before. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

www.amsoil.com Series 2000 0w30 covers all 0w20's needs.

http://www.unofficialbmw.com/all/misc/all_oilfaq.html

Redline is very good for continuous high rev's 4k to 7 k. They don't post test results for non racing applications for 5w30 which is what most of us use.

order on line, shipped right to your door. I got started this way and then found a near by warehouse that I can pick it up at.

Ask the girl that takes the order where your wharehouse and then you can save 10 bucks.

Here's one test using Red Line *5w30* (comparing to Mobil 1):

http://www.c5-corvette.com/redline.htm

I got my 5w20 from here: http://autochic.com/redline/engine.html

Total for a case of 12 was $91.86 (including $6 shipping).

Yes a very good test at high RPM, ester (base stock) excells at at high rpm's showing increased HP. What I wanted from Redline is the ASTM bearing test that shows wear marks after 1 hour 1800 rpm 100 c. Redline has done this test comparing 20w40 racing oil against 20w40 racing Amsoil. Again note the term racing; There are completely different requirements for racing, some help for street applications and some don't. Reline won't release the results of the 5w30 tests; So it's hard to compare 5w30's or the new 0w30's. Redline is the top 3 of synthetic's and I have been looking for exactly the same test run against each other. I'm not biased, I work in the Aeronautic's Engineering field and deal with lab verification methods daily. Again Redline, Amsoil and Mobil1 (The new stuff, not Trisynthetic)are very very good. Which is the best ?? Search on Roadrage on the tl board, much debate there.

I'm running Redline 5W30 now.

I just received the oil analysis of my Mobil 1 after 7500 miles. But, the wrong engine was used (1.8L) so the results are incorrect. I need to call and have the analysis corrected.

I plan on running AMS next and comparing the 3.

I think real world testing and analysis is the most unbiased way to judge what oil is best for my car (Acura's 3.2). All engines are different, in many ways. No test in a lab can simulate what happens in an engine after +7500 miles.

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I'm not 100% sold on Amsoil just yet.... for some reason I'm more comfortable with Redline. Not sure why.. probably from my research at atl.com. Thanks tinman.. I just ordered from them

I'd be interested to see your real-world tests Bluto. I think once you run the AMS you should post your results on here. If nothing else it will make for a good discussion!

How is a 0W30 equal to a 5W20 (I'm sure that's what you meant above)?

I know that our engines can handle the 30 weight oil, but wouldn't the 0W30 be more viscous at driving temperature?

0w20 requirements came from points for the EPA, and allows the Auto Manufacture to raise their mileage/environmental allotments. Your engine is not any different than the 2001 engine which requires 5w30. 0w30 covers all the requirements of 0w20

another question came to mind..

when you switch between oils, is there a need to flush out anything.. or you just drain old.. replace with new (diff. brand)

Maybe another way of asking: if Amsoil offers both 5W20 and 0W30, and Acura recommends 5W20, why should I choose 0W30? Is there any advantage?

Drain the old and in with the new....

I've been draining my Mobil1 every 5k... but I will be going a little longer with the Redline since it's more $$

Amsoil doesn't offer 0w20 I use 5w30 because it's 2 bucks cheaper / qt. The spec sheet shows quite a difference for the four ball ASTM test. 0w30 is better

http://www.desertsundirectsales.com/ford5w20.htm

I change every 10k miles, for me thats every 5 months. The next change (at 33k) I will send a sample to the lab.

I use both Amsoil oil and filter.

No flush is needed for those who cover over to the DARK SIDE.

Redline Oil

Here you go! This is where I got mine! I went with the regular oil as suppose to the racing oil because Redline doesn't recommend using the racing oil for street cars!! Don't know if there really is a big difference but since the price was the same I went the regular!

But our 2003 owner manual recommends 5W20, not 0W20!

Amsoil offers both 5W20 and 0W30. Which one and why?

I ment 5w20 not 0w20,

5w20 xl 7500 is a synthetic blend that was just recently released.

It's not a extended use oil. The 0w30 is the best Amsoil; for now. The following are reasons behind Honda 5w20. The best for our engine is 0w30 but lab results after use is the only way to detemine how a engine is reacting.

Thanks. And thanks for the links.

It does say, however, on Amsoil's site that the 5W20 is a full synthetic (please correct me if I'm wrong).

After reading your links thoroughly I do see that the 0W30 is a 'better' oil then the 5W20 in that it is capable of longer drain periods.

Thanks again.
