i may be wrong, but if my memory serves correctly my window sticker said somewhere in ohio.

granted, its been a while since i purchased my 01 CLS so i dont know if they're built elsewhere now

Ohio is correct but the transmission ( ) as well as 15% of the CL's foreign parts come from Japan.
