When Idling

When idling in traffic jams, is it better for the engine to shift into neutral than to stay in drive?

For a very long idle (I'd say more than 4-5 minutes) I'd say yes, but to keep constantly switching from netral to drive is not good either

I agree with the russianDude, for long idling put it in neutral or park if you're not going anywhere for a while. I don't think switching back and forth can hurt though.

i agree with the russian . i dont think it matters unless its a really long idle, and in that case, wouldn't your leg get tired anyway?
