The zex dry kits have a switch that's mounted on the TB plate & will click the switch when your throttle linkage hits WOT.(wide open throttle) So doesn't matter what gear your in.

You sure about that? Maybe there are 2 different kits.

On my friends kit when I installed it read the voltage from the TPS... You set the kit first to read voltage at fully closed and then at fully open.

Either way, the dry kit throws nitrous at full throttle and only then.

Yea the ZEX only sprays at WOT and supposedly wont spray if the computer doesnt read that the fuel is right or something.

They may have changed the design to make it electronic. The 2 kits I helped install on TLS's(4+ years ago) had the switch contact. There's also a little ECU type of box for fuel management. It would make sense to make it electronic because of the newer drive by wire systems out now.

Ok so all say at W.O.T check
how abt the question after that ?? :
Now, does that affect the rpm say I am in 1st gear auto or ss mode ??

any body have a process or procedure they follow during the spray process. ??
from a dig / from a roll etc and what gear.

this isn't fast and furious.. it doesn't matter when you spray, it's not gonna magically change your times. just spray it all the time at WOT when you're racing..

that's why nitrous isn't very good on the track (pretty much just 1/4 mile thing)

Its not gonna magically change your times = are u sure ?
sure it will, more power, more TQ & as long as traction is good then it shud.

otherwise whts the point of even using it.

yes i know u want to spray only at WOT thats done.

The follow up was when is the best time to spray and in what gear to get max results.
some spray frm a roll and others frm a dig in 1st gear (1/4mile run)............
SO, do u get the question, nobody is trying tobe fast and furious, I am too old 4 that.

From my personal experience with my 3.0 I would have my nitrous armed (in the "on" position) knowing I was going to race.

From there I would come off the line at around 98% throttle (my zex kit only worked during WOT once armed).

Coming off the line like so would allow for me to give myself that milisecond to get traction and at around 2000 rpms I would then go from 98% throttle to 100% throttle. Once you do so, the nitrous will kick in.

I left my foot on the gas the whole time till the end of the track or no longer than 15 seconds (which ever comes first). NEVER GO LONGER THAN 15 SECONDS ON THE BOTTLE.

Don't be afraid of leaving your foot on the gas the whole time. It will disengage while shifting.

Even though they don't recommend cold plugs with a 75 shot or below, I will on the other hand.

If you want to be safe using nitrous, cold plugs and higher octane is a must. If the shot is too high, then fuel is the next step. Whether it'd be slightly bigger injectors or a fuel pump.

With my 3.0 I used a 125 wet shot with Zex cold plugs, bigger injectors (only 20cc's bigger) and 100+ octane. No if's, and's or but's about it.

race gas was easily available for me as it was at the pump where I lived back in Cali. Out here in texas since I don't have that privilege, I use Xylene or Toulene which has a octane rating of 114+ which you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot.
