When do you need a camber kit?
If and when I drop my CL-S I will be using H&R Sport Springs...approx 1.75" drop front and rear. I am planning on putting 18"s on next spring after we get through snow season.
Will I need a camber kit if I install the springs now? Or will I need it when I get my 18's w/ a drop? Or will I not need it at all?
Thanks

i just got an alignment last week...waiting for my springs/shocks to settle for two weeks. my setup - h&r sport springs w/tokico blues + 235/40/18's. the verdict - very close to oem spec, no need for front or rear camber kit. YMMV.

All cars vary. I have a Comptech drop on Koni Yellows... the 1.25" drop. Needed a camber kit for the rear. Allowed the springs to settle a week or so, then had an alignment done. Rear camber was adjusted as far as possible, but were still out of spec.
Normal range of camber = 0 to 1 degrees.
Actual setting (maxed out) = 1.03 degrees both sides.
May not seem significant, but after I drove the car 2 more weeks, the camber (because of the maxed out setting), moved even more. At the next alignment (when I had the camber kit installed), left camber (before installation) was 2.3 degrees and right camber was 3.1 degrees.

So I'm not gonna know if I need one until I actually put the springs and wheels on. Damn that's sorta annoying but I guess you can't do much about it.
So I should wait a week or so after the installation of springs before getting an alignment?

actually, I drove around without the camber kit for almost a year! no abnormal tire wear. I only got the camber kit so I could pass safety inspection.

Damn...how is it that you guys with Comptech drops have such high camber problems especially on the rear? I was riding on Teins and now temporarily NEX coils and I'm at like 3.25 inch drop in the front and 2.5 inch drop in the rear and my cambers are barely even that bad. I do have a 3 degree in the front tho. But I mean like before I was at a 1.75 rear and i didn't even bald my rear stock tires.
