Exclamation When do you change IK22 spark plugs on S/C6spd?

I have about 6k miles on my blower over 1 1/5 years now since install plus I drive aggressively . How often do you S/C guys change the spark plugs (IK22)? I"m thinking about changing them, the battery 51R (cheap energizer) and the front 6spd engine torque dampener that jproy introduced as well as the rear one also, since I'm removing the blower might as well do everything at once.....Mr Steve, Allout can you guys chime in

I had my supercharger installed at around 51K, and I now have 60K on the car. I intend to change my plugs at 105K based upon the Acura service interval. I will have the blower serviced at the time as well.

But I don't drive all that aggressive very often.

Yes, I do. I believe the 105K service requires the plugs, timing belt, and other assorted stuff to be inspected and replaced.

You wouldn't install a colder plug though...

I run regular oil... I will switch to synthetic soon.

NO Denso Iridiums. I actually have a slightly used set I had on my car for a few miles I installed b4 I pulled my charger.

If you're interested I'll sell em pretty cheap.

I changed my first set at around 30K just because I was pulling the blower to install the thermoblok spacer. They really weren't that bad but I had already bought a set and dropped them in. At 6K they should be fine even under aggressive driving. Detonation or pinging does a job on the plugs but other than that, I think your fine. I would think you would be very safe running them 20-30K. I think NSX-Tuner has around 50K on his first set.

I would wait to get a little more use out of them. You could pull a few to take a look at them when you have the blower off but I would be very surprised if they looked bad.

Pretty much, the Denso IK22 is more universal in its application.
I would think 60K max for the Denso plugs. talked to someone at Denso about this a while back, plus they only have Iridium on the electorde and the ground has ordinary Nickel coating so it won't reist erosion as much as platinium and Iridium. I think Bosch has some double Iridium plugs but if you want them to last you long just get something that has a Iridium electrode and either iridium or platinium for the ground.

But I would replace them around 50K or at least just check them from time to time and do it sooner if necessary.
