Which wheel would have the bigger lip??!

Hey Guys.

I'm looking at a certain 18" wheel that fits our cars and comes in two different offsets in 18"s.

Spec 1: 18x7.5 +45 offset

Spec 2: 18x7.5 +48 offset

Wouldn't the +45 offset have a bigger lip and more noticeable lip than the +48 one? I'm pretty sure the lower the offset the bigger the lip-- can someone please confirm or correct me? Thanks

I don't think the offset determines the lip as more than likely, the area where the wheel studs mount on the wheel on would be thinner or thicker making it closer or further from the rotor. I think the lips should be the same size.

get the +48, less chance of rubbing.

yes offset is NOT the determining factor in lip size.

on my wheels for instance... the offset defines strictly how thick the hub is.

on very few wheels does the offset determine placement of spokes & hub in relation to the lip.

What he said. I've got that exact setup and no problemo.

i actually would go for the +45 in a 7.5" wheel...

why?

well i prefer the look of a wider stance and i like the wheels to be pushed closer towards the outside fender to get the near flush appearance.

it gives a more agressive look...

you should have any rubbing problems with +45 in a 7.5" wheel...

I have very minimal problems even with a large drop having +45 in a 8" wheel.

Ok I see what you guys mean...Its a misconception that offset determines the size of the wheel's lip....I think I'll go w/the 18x7.5 +45 b/c like adam said, it'll result in a ore agressive appearance...Thanks guys
