Wheel upgrade question:

I'm new to the list, and I'm picking up an '01 CLS this afternoon (if it quits snowing!) The OEM rims have some curb rash, and I'm looking for suggestions.

I also saw someone has a wheel/tire set for sale on the black market. Will 18x7 rims with a 45 offset, and 215-40s fit in the wells without scraping? Would they still work if I lowered the car?

Thanks for your help!

Grant

OOPS tires are 225/40

I messed up on the tire size, they are 225/40s.

225/40s will really make your speedometer read inaccurately; 5.4% fast.

Go with a 225/50 or a 235/45 if you want to be closer to stock.

It depends on your drop, but I have comptech springs with 235\40\18's, 18x7.5 +48 offset. Zero rub.
