okay my buddy and I were having a debate as far as quality, occassionally hot rodding it around, and just general good car.
which would be better.
This cars are in the low-upper 30 grand range.
'04 Acura TL(270 HP) 3.2 V-6(same as in you guys car(just it got turned up for 04)
or
'04 Volvo S60 R(300 HP) The I-5 Turbo

now I picked the TL because it has an great record.(the old model)(i know new model means potiental problems). but the quality, performance and overall the TL a good car.
plus you save a little cash.
He picked the S60 R because little more power from the factory. the body styling(the S60 reminds me of a Audi which Audi's styling i think okay but i think the TL's styling hotter),
also he said Safety(which i gotta give him that because Volvos are extremely safe).
tell me what you guys think

the volvo man, 6spd AWD + turbo, they have mad chips coming out for it, you'll be talking 380+ hp and over that in torque

 

i wouldnt want either personally. But if he wants to mod, i dont think you can get the tl that much faster since it is still fwd. I like the looks and the interior of the tl better, but i like the 300hp and awd of the volvo.

 

no comparison WHATSOEVER. S60R ALL THE WAY.
gotta love turbos, throw a BOV on that sucker, and damn, itll sound pretty.
Interior of the TL is nicer, but exterior of the S60R BLOWS it away. just take at look at the SEMA pics. S60R sems a little bit more oroginal than the Tl too.
plus its AWD and safe, so u cud drive that thing in any weather condition...

BTW, whats the price of the S60R?

hows this for a Volvo? hehe.. made it last nite...

37k for all that performance in a safe sedan sounds like a VERY good deal. it is just as large as an M5, and could be just as fast as one with a few mods. all for half the price.....
but then again i probably should not be comparing a S60 to the best BMW every made

If it was between the S60R and new TL i'd go with the Volvo.

 

volvo is def a sleeper.... look at the old 89 740 5 spd turbo. that box of a wagon cud MOVE, at least during those days.\

ppl in general just underestimate volvos bc they see them as safe grocery geters. volvo is like audi, its amazing what a turbo upgrade and chip cud do.

who on this board from westchester traded in their C70 for a CL6 at Curry a yr and a half ago? i remember seeing u racing it on Central Ave... seemed damn quick to me...
