What's with the turning radius on the CL vs TL?

I have a loaner 03 TL while my car is getting it's 2nd throttle body replaced and when I pulled into work today I went to park in my normal spot which, in the CL, requires me to take the widest berth possible and crank the wheel all the way over to get in.

Now, today in the TL I went to make the same maneuver and I only had the wheel cranked about 3/4 way and had no problem at all getting in. When I cranked the wheel over fully I couldn't believe how much tighter the turning radius was in the TL.

Am I crazy, or what? One of my biggest gripes about the CL has always been that it has the turning radius of a navy ship. Why is the TL so much better?

Oh, BTW, the leather on the 03 TL premium is just terrible. It looks very cheap.

If I remember correctly, the difference is between the Type S models and the Premium models. The turning radius on the CLP is a little tighter than the CLS, too.

According to http://www.acura.com/models/model_sp....asp?module=cl
the turning circle for the CLS is 39.4 feet, while its 37.4 feet for the CLP. Checking for the TL, the TLP has a turning circle of 36.8 feet, while the TLS has a turning circle of 40 feet. I might be wrong, but I seem to remember the problem having to do with the wheel size difference on the Premium models vs. the Type S models.

Damn--thanks for the info.

That's a pretty dramatic difference.

wider tires will kill turning radius. Compared to my Mustang and Taurus I think the CL has a very good turning radius. I have significant wider than stock tires on my other 2 cars though.

Sorry for the bump but I've driven all the Acuras (aside from the NSX) plenty:

CL-S turning radius is the worst. Owning one really made that apparent. The old TL was okay, the new TL is better, the MDX is good, especially for an SUV (easily tighter than the CL-S from what I've seen).
