No, I didn't run a red light but that stupid camera flash went off after I went through a yellow yesterday. Well, actually there was a Prelude off my right rear quarter panel that also went through the yellow, so they were the last car through and technically they were the only possible person to get a ticket.

But just in case, how much $$$ should I set aside incase I get a ticket in the mail?

it probably varies from state-to-state. my DC ticket was $75. IT DOUBLES IF YOU DON'T PAY ON TIME!

$50 for me. They've got cameras on EVERY SINGLE light all the way down Route 7 by tysons. Thats where I was snapped.

I'm ordering the clear license plate covers that block out half of it!

Exactly....because all the red light runners keep smacking into the PIGS that don't pay attention in High Speed chases.[/Quote]Originally posted by Bladerunner:

i hate those camera things... everytime i come up to one, i get so parnoid. i brake as soon as i see yellow, even when i can probably make it. i know this isn't good but i don't want to risk a ticket.

Did you hear the story about the guy who got a photo ticket in the mail? He mailed them a photo of money. They sent back a photo of handcuffs. He paid after that.

If the camera went off, does that mean that you were in the intersection while the light was red?
Is that how they work?

The camera only takes your picture if your behind the intersection line of the crosswalk when the light turns red. If your in the intersection when a light turns red you are clear. A driver can be cited for moving on a green light if he does not yield to a driver in the intersection, if that driver entered at a safe speed before the light turned red.

Well this light took pictures while me and the 'lude were already IN the intersection. Fscking commie cameras.

Btw, if I can save 4mins off my commute time by going ten mph faster, KICKASS!

I don't think we have any of these cameras in CT YET, but if they bring in revenue, I'm sure we'll be getting them soon. I read somewhere that there's a lot of controversy about these cameras and that in San Diego, they have been turned OFF?

I wonder how many rear end collisions there's going to be now when people slam on their brakes to avoid getting a ticket?

TypeSkid...

those 'blocking' license plate covers do not work. The cameras take the picture at a higher angle than you would be looking... and a police friend of mine has told me that they can still make out your plates....

Not to mention.. these draw LOTS of attention to your car from the law... and anything in front of your tag is not legal.. so they could write you up for covering a plate....
