whats the fastest our cl/cl-s could go??
is it 160??or what??? and what is the governer thing you guys sometimes talk about??
the fastest i ever went was 135..whats your fastest..??

If you remove the MUDGURADS and replace them with genuine Mudguards ... you might be able to squeeze another 5-7 mph out of your car.

147 is Acura's offical spec. Some people report doing 150, but that's within the error range of the speedometer. A governor is something that artificially limits a car's top speed. I don't know if 147 is governed or if its the true top speed.

 

I heard 147mph is the top speed, the only member i knew that got his CL-S top out was Astroboy CL-S(pics to prove it) can someone post that pic again. Anyways, the fastest i gone was 125mph, and no balls to gone farther than that...

 

I hit 135 but the road I was on just wouldn't allow me to get going any faster I'd have to slow down to pass traffic of for a turn in the road.

 

the fastest i've ever gone in my car was 140 mph... i think the governor stops you at around 145-150? somewhere around there

 

I went all the way up to 200 ...km/hr

 

hmmm, fastest I've ever been is 140, so I dunno if it limits you after that. I decided I should save gas so I stopped going fast.

I hit 143 on I-70 in Utah...great place for it. Kind of annoying though, it takes FOREVER to get there from 115 or so. Wish 4th gear wasn't so tall...

 

The Accord has the same problem, after 3rd gear, acceleration comes to a halt and you just watch the mph needle slowly creep. But then again we only have 4 gears. I think Acura really screwed the performance of the CL-S by having TWO over drive gears.

It is definitely the governor...our cars should be able to hit almost 160...given the gearing in the car. For those that have hit the governor....at what rpm were you when you hit it? I bet you weren't in the 5th gear VTEC....remember our cars are slippery...COD is like .28~.30...pretty slick.

 

146 for about 3 seconds 3 times. going downhill. you really can't use 5th gear to get up that high, simply won't accelerate. have to stay in 4th.

 

i dunno about you guys, but mine has hit 260kmph and was still goin. 01 cl-type s, 136,000kms.

 

oh and it's all stock

i bounced it off the limiter at a little before 150...

it went BREEEENNG BREEEENNNGGGBROOOOOOPPPPPPPPP vroommmmmmmm haha..

didnt see the RPM's i was to scared.
