This car is just slower than the CL-S .
If it makes you feel any better, the best I could muster with the S4 was a 1.97 60' time.

A '65 Mustang did a 1.073 tonight.
I also heard some really weird noises from the motor tonight on my last run. May have been ping, not sure. It was near the top of 3rd gear. The car really doesn't feel like it pulls in 3rd like it should. 1, 2, and 4 pull great. Meh. I've got a quick video i'll post.

Yeah he had the inlet, outlet, and something else done. Can't remember. Cost him $515 including overnight shipping both ways.
And damn a 112 @ 14psi is LOUD. 475whp/525 ft-lbs makes one hell of a grocery getter

Steve, you didn't bail out already did you ?
I have a friend with a 01 S4 and he just upgraded to the RS4 turbo's, and ran the same as with the stockers, 13.1.
Mr. other Steve , get yourself an Evo and call it a day... Not sure if you saw the pics I posted of my buddies in car talk, and his best run is 12.3

It is hard to pull great ETs. The thrill is in the pull while at speed. If ETs are important, another car is needed.

These guys will do a great job on the blower. I've been told turn around time is within a week and if needed (and if you want to pay for overnight shipping) he can do it in one day.

I'm uploading pics/video. One is a video of my first run tonight. You'll see how long 3rd gear is compared to 2nd. I was shifting into 4th gear in my automatic. In this car i'm only halfway through 4th

Anyone that knows anything about the CLS6, knows that traction is damn near impossible to come by especially when you start upping the power.

I am ordering all these misc items to help put my car to stock... and its expensive!!
i. Battery ground cable
ii. Battery starter cable
iii. Battery box and cover (I destroyed these when I moved it back)
iv. All the little clips and stuff that get abused when constantly removing the bumper and other covers
v. Intake manifold cover (I had to enlarge the MAP sensor hole on mine)
vi. All the little nuts/bolts/clips that hold the resonator and all those other annoying stuff to do with the stock air-box and resonator. I found some of these but can't find the rest!
$200'ish
Anyways, sorry to hijack the thread!

Don't feel too badly. It cost me $300 in parts to get my car back to stock after taking the blower off. The main culprit was related to the alternator. I didn't have the bracket or the pulley

You guys gonna be pissed if I run 13's with only icebox & dr's?
Anyways, Steve obviously you are dissapointed with your runs from tonight, thats understandable. I've been there, and it sucks. But you cant give up on your car just because you havent been able to harness it's potential. It takes ALOT of practice to be good with a manual transmission at the drag strip, especially with a high hp fwd boat.
Do you powershift? Speed shift? I am always pulling the shifter towards the next gear as I'm accelerating, that way all I have to do is stab at the clutch and it pops immediately into the next gear. Every little bit counts.
You said you got a 2.2 60', was it a 2.29 or 2.21? Thats a pretty wide range, and should be able to be improved upon with some real tires.
I dont understand why anyone with more than 300hp would ever go to the drag strip on anything less than drag radials. Get some 16" steelies & run some drag tires, it'll make a huge difference i'm sure.

I go to the track, but all that I assumed to care about was the 60 foot, 1/4 time, and trap speed.

MrSteve-
14.0! ouch. I've watched your video a few times and allow me to make a comment on your shifting. Yawnnnnn. Take no offense please for I'm not slamming you and I know your fairly new to manual cars.
*
I noticed on every shift the front of your car coming down. It is a difficult car to shift and you have to give it abuse to get the fast shift down. When your coming off the clutch between gears, and engaging the next gear, you should feel your car pull you forward rather than meeting the rpms midshift. Seems your coming off the gas all the way then nailing it again. Don't come off it all the way, just partially. You literally have to be physically hard on the shift through all gears and carry the car to redline. When I'm dialed in on the shift, I'm right on the limiter and the car does not settle down. That's only my techique and everyone has their own. I'd suspect you lost a good 4 or 5 tenths during that run.

In my mustang I can pull as hard as I want to, it'll never pop out as long as I'm accelerating. Makes it much easier to powershift.
And Jim I dont think letting off the gas affects the ET that much. I had 3 runs where I speed shifted, and 3 where I powershifted. The ET's & mph showed almost no difference. You can really guage how fast he is shifting without sitting in the car with him, videos can be decieving.
