What are you paying- lease, out of pocket??

I am going to lease a CL Type S next week. What did you have to lay out of pocket, and what are your payments? I will lease for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year. Thank you.

Bought mine! CL-P, no-nav. I put $6300 down and my payments are $449.52. I paid to much!

BE CAREFUL - Negotiate price FIRST, make them agree on it, then talk about lease or buy.

I am not going to get the navigation. Is there any reason why I should? Sounds like some of you are pissed you didn't get it. Also those prices sound like you own the cars; or am I mistaken and they are the lease prices? Thanks

oh ya .. these are financed prices, not leased. I'm at 8% or something .. anyways about the navi. dude tell you what, if you get it and dont like it, I'll trade ya my CL w/o navi for yours w/. It is the biggest regret I have. Other than that I wouldnt change a thing about my purchse (oh yeah, maybe I'd reconsider gettin a type S ) but the cl-p works for me for now

I leased the CL-S non Navi with no spoiler for $508 with tax included per month. I put $1000 cap reduction on it. I know I got screwed but the car was brand new then and I got one of the first ones in April last year. I took 15,000 miles a year and I am way over at this point but I really don't care.

I leased a CL-P Non Navi in 2/01. Put 3500 down, lease runs $343.00 plus tax. Residual is $16.800. This is a 36 month with 15,000 miles per year

When I got mine I was torn between two different dealers. The terms of the lease were exactly the same (lengh, miles, money factor, cap reduction ect.) but the dealer I bought it from was $50.00 month cheaper. Go to different dealers to compare, you'll nothice the difference in the monthly charges

Hope this helps

I put 0 down, and I have 12k/year for 42 months (work is only 4 miles away ). And my monthly payments with tax and all are 474.00/month
BTW, I also had the spoiler and extra wood trim all thrown in.

I leased my blue 3.2CL-P (no navi) last week. I put $1500 down total out of pocket and I pay $395/month including 6% sales tax for 42 months and 12k miles per year. The selling price was $26,500 including the trunk tray, splash guards, and wood shift knob. If you have a good credit rating you can get a good deal on a Type S now through Chase Manhattan. My dealer's web site has the special you can look at, go to the new car specials section at www.nalleyacura.com

I hope this helps. I was working with three dealers at the same time to keep getting a better deal. Good luck.

I bought mine outright -- do not believe in leasing. I guess that's because I keep my cars well beyond the end of the payments.

Speaking of $$$, my monthly is $300.00. But, I put in the whole amount I got for the private sale of my '94 Accord EX-L ($9500) PLUS out of pocket $$. Basically borrowed $15K @ a low rate of 4.9% for 5 yrs.

I think I got a good deal!!

Why are you leasing for four years? In my eyes it would be better to buy in that situation. Anyway- I love cars. The vette is amazing; and the BMW is for the wife. I drive approx 100 miles per day to and from work. Too much for one car so I figure the CL Type S would make for a great commuter car. I found a dealer to do $1500 out of pocket, $420 per month plus tax for 3 years and 15,000 miles per year. I am just wondering how much lower I can force him to go. I did not work out the exact numbers- just came to the final payment while negotiating.

I leased a CL-P with trunk tray, splash guards, wheel locks, and spoiler for $425/mo total, for 36 months at 12K/year with only my trade-in (worth about $3k, which is what they gave me for it) as down payment. That's an OK deal in other states, but a better deal in Maryland because, in this state, sales tax on the full vehicle price is added to the cap cost (Texas and Illinois also require this, I believe) whereas in most states the tax is added to the lease payment (so you don't pay tax on the residual value).

Since you're interested in a CL-S, you should add about $50-70 per month for a 36 month lease to any CL-P deal posted here. (The general rule on a 36 month lease is that each additional $1000 above the first $20k or so should add about $25-30 to your monthly lease payment. The CL-S I think runs about $2000 more than the CL-P.)

Be very wary of deals that look better because of additional months added to the lease contract. For example, say the dealer offers you a lease payment of $450 for 36 months, but you say it's too high, so they say OK, we can do $420 but we have to go to 39 months. You think, that sounds good, a big reduction in my monthly payment for just a couple of extra months. But do the math. Not counting the cost of money, which is pretty much a wash between 36 and 39 months, the first deal will cost you $450 * 36 = $16,200 and the second deal will cost you $420 * 39 = $16,380. So not only aren't they negotiating with you, they are actually offering you a WORSE deal while they let you think you're breaking their back. Stick to your guns on the number of months, miles, down payment, etc. so that when the monthly payment is being discussed, you're comparing apples to apples.

One other thing: make sure your lease is through Honda Finance. They offer an excellent lease contract -- no security deposit if you have good credit (if the dealer tries to add one, refuse it), no end-of-lease drop-off fee (of course, as with any lease you may have excessive wear-and-tear charges, but Honda is also very up front and very fair about those), and gap insurance is included in the lease. Other lease companies usually have less friendly terms. Most Acura dealers use Honda Finance almost exclusively, but there are exceptions. Don't be one of them.

Good luck and enjoy your CL!

Can I ask how long your payments are gonna be? 48 months, 60 months, 72 months (!!??!!) or more? I got a few quotes in the Bay area, they want invoice + 500-800 for the Type S Navi. I think I'll wait till August when they are sh*tting in their pants cause they need to get rid of the 01 models for the 02's. Was also planning to put 10K down. Good idea or not?
