What would you do? SLK 32AMG or C32AMG?
So I'm thinking of getting into more debt. Figured that I'd lease either the SLK 32AMG or the C32AMG for my wife for a graduation gift. (Just before HER student loans become my birthday gift). Which would you choose AND why? I've decided to keep the CLS despite all the time it spends in the shop so keep that in mind when you choose.
Thanks for the input guys.
OH, and anybody know any good MB forums?

I'd actually prefer your Viper, but since I got the CLS, it's "her turn". But what do you mean by "AMG models don't lease so great"? I needs to learn more before I do anything too stupid.

The hot, in demand or limited models get less than stellar rates (with the AMG models being the worst). The regular, high production or slow selling models get good rates.
The residuals don't help either, they are either the same or worse than the standard models (for the reason most people aren't in the market for a $55k C32 or $72k AMG E55).
I would expect a C32 to be in the $850-$950/month range (36 months).....give or take.

Burn some dust here
Does your wife want a sedan or convertible?? Sounds stupid and simple, but thats what it comes down to. You can do no wrong with either car, I promise you that. But just curious, is your wife a F1 driver or a lead-footer that just has to have a sub 5 0-60 car???? If she does, then get her the AMG, if not save $10000 and get her a SLK320 or C320. Most women I know could give a shit how fast their car does 0-60 in. Try thinking economically here, if she likes driving that damn fast, get her the AMG. If not, get her the lesser and take the cash into your CL.

I've always wanted a convertible but a 4 door just seems practical. We've never owned a 4 door before. Getting tired of squishing people in back. But that convertible keeps calling out to me. I want to start losing my hair in style. Can't decide. Probably end up with nothing.
Beltfed,
Thanks for the info. I always thought that the residual would be pretty good so lease would be reasonablly nice. But I didn't figure on having a problem finding a buyer at the end of the lease. BTW, how's the Viper doing? All fixed?

It doesn't cost anything to investigate or even go for a test drive.....I'm assuming you will, just report back your findings (would be interested in hearing what the dealer has to say).
The Viper is still in Jersey being fixed, hopefully it will be back in a few weeks (there was some damage underneath the bumper on top of everything else)....she did some number on the car.

Y not get her an M3 Convertible??? Its cheaper than the SLK and has 4 seats. Its only $4g more than the sedan but hey, if you want a convertible, y not that one and you can still fit four people in it somewhat comfortably.
Again, my .02
BTW, if it were me, Id trade the CLS, get her a VW, and be pulling up in a Porsche. Shit, if you make the money you should spend on it yourself now and then
