What would you do?

My parents seen ss brake lines on my watch list for ebay (75bucks). Do ss lines make a difference at all? They are sending down a money order for them, you think i should go ahead and get this mod or something else? Put the money towards a gps, etc?

You'll get increased pedal feel, & they will feel less spongy after repeated braking.

Really that's the only difference I've seen.

After repeated braking your brake fluid gets very hot and your stock rubber lines will expand leaving you will a spongy pedal feeling. SS brake lines eliminate that feeling b/c they don't expand. They firmen up the pedal also.

I'd be a little suspicious purchasing something (especially brake components) that can only be found on ebay. Brakes aren't something you want to go 'cheap' on, if you know what I mean. The seller doesn't even have a picture of the brake lines on the auction page. The one picture he does have is for "display purposes only." PM Excelerate about some SS lines.

Yup. I too, recommend you stay away from those unknown eBay parts. Use Excelerate here or check out the black market. When I was looking for some, I saw a few sets for sale. These lines are what really make a difference in braking.

I bought a set off of Ebay. Made by techna-fit. Haven't had a problem in over a year.

SS lines on the street look neat but their practical value is negligble.

Money can be better spent elsewhere.

Oh yeah. I use the lines that Comptech used to sell. They are made by Goodridge.

I have the Technafit lines in stock. $100 if bought with rotors or $110 shipped alone.

Yes Technafit makes a great product and your set will be fine, but that doesn't mean every set on ebay is Technafit. If the set the customer bought on ebay is Technafit then he is fine but there are some cheaper companies that don't do the fittings properly and eventually they leak.
