I bought an 03' with the 5 speed AT. I got it saturday and the transmission has me wonder if something is wrong. In the morning when you shift into drive after i back out of my garage the trans seems to shift into gear when i push the gas. No noise just a bump. When driving sometimes the car doesn't seem just right. I can't really put my finger on it. Seems like sometimes it doesn't know what it wants to do. I have a warranty for 1 month 3000 miles. Should i take it in and have it looked at before the warranty goes away? I just gave up a car with a bad trans for this.
Are you really asking if you should bring that in to the dealer with only one month left of warrantee on the car? Get that in there ASAP, and have them repair your transmision and check your motor mounts before that comes out of your pocket.
BTW welcome!!!

Yes, what they said. Take it in RIGHT AWAY !!!
The CL and TL sibling have terrible automatic transmissions.
If you want to avoid problems down the road, maybe the dealership will take the car back and you can go shopping for a 6speed. Big maybe though.

This sucks!!!!! I am going to an acura dealer on thursday to get my clock light fixed. I will get them to drive it and see if anything is wrong. I bought the thing from a chrysler dealer so i dunno if they will be able to fix it. I heard something about a 7 yr/ 100,000 mile transmission warranty. I wonder if that applies to mine. Mine was made on 5/22/02. Its such a good looking car to have problems with transmissions. I have already gotten alot of compliments.
I should probably opt for the extended warranty for $1,500.

Call Acura 800 # right away with your VIN # and ask if you get the extended warranty. All Acuras come with a 4yr/48mo warranty which should still be in effect also.
Sorry for your problems, luckily I don't buy automatics.

I will call that number after i get off here. My first car was a manual jeep wrangler and i hated that car. I live in a small town and never really use the highway. So i was constantly shifting. i love to sit back and enjoy. I might be alittle paranoid too because all i did this weekend was look at treads about the transmission. The warranty is good for 3 months 3,000 miles not 1 month.
Ok...i called before i even finished posting this....the woman said that i have the 7yr/100,000 mile trans replacement. so that makes me feel alittle better.

Also, it's easy to think every CL/TL auto tranny has had problems, because forum members will post their problems frequently. However, there's no "Post here if you have a problem-less auto tranny" thread - keep that in mind
I had my CL about 3 weeks (bought it last summer) when the tranny started making grinding noises. I got it from an Acura dealer so I took it back right away & he told me the tranny needed replacing 'cause they got a 'code'. Of course I was still under warranty. They replaced it, I waited about 1 week, and....

Also another question is, are you waiting a second before you hit the gas ?
For example: come to a complete stop while in reverse, then click to D3-5 (whichever your going to use), pause (you will feel when the gear is engaged), then hit the gas.
Not saying your not doing this, but I have ridden with people who do not wait for the gear to engage before hitting the gas, and it feels the same as you are describing.

Since you said that i am waiting and its fine. Must be getting alittle too excited to hit the gas. I just got off the phone with the local acura dealer and i found out that they were the ones my car was first purchased from..and they have all the history of the car. I found out that i am on my second trans. the first went out with only 550 miles on the clock. She said they fixed it and all is well. She also told me that it was certified at 58,000...and i have 60,000 on it. The last guy did all the correct services and stuff so all the recalls have been done. She said again that i have the 7yr/100,000 mile trans warranty. They want me to come in and get the new air conditioning filters put in. So i guess i will. Damn dealer is over an hour away.
btw...what does it mean to be certified?
