What Would You Do?

Mod out the Evo or get 19' wheels/tires for the M3.....its one or the other because dubs for the M3 are going to cost me $4200 and I have 2 really pricey custom rifles coming at some point.

Mind you, I did order the OEM 19s from the factory.

So, what would you do?

Mod the evo.

I love the OEM 19s for the m3. But save 1k on the side for some coils.

Hey Beltfed, don't you think owning more than one sports car is no fun, well I would if I were you. You have(or will have) four sports cars, then you can not concentrate your love totally on anyone. I would say how about selling the other three and just keep one of them, your favorite one, then you would feel happier when you see other people driving the other cars on street. I am totally honest with you, not "just" jealous of your wealthiness, but want to share how I think about owning car. You could have bunch of vehicles but you should only keep one "sports car" at a time. If you have a RSX TYPE S, don't you feel excited to see a EVO passing by you? If you have a G35 coupe, don't you want to park next to a M3? If you see a hot girl driving a red 360 Modena, don't you want to catch up to her in your Carbon Gray IS300 and say hi and tell her she is cute? Man I find this way more happier than owning every car in the world. If I am rich to the level that I could own 50 different vehicles, I would probably have bunch of vehicles but for sure I would still only have one "sports car", my second favorite one(because I like to see other people driving the favorite one on street). To answer your question, get rims for your M3.

Oh you're on the money with that one, just the dubs are a big purchase.

Got these today actually (PSS9), I have an exhaust on order as well :o

Appreciate the opinions so far, good constructive info.

Well, the Acura and Viper are going in Oct.....so I'll be down 2 as usual. I hear what you are saying, its nice to have that "one" special car to drive and keep nice. If I was in the position to have 4 or 5 cars though, I would definitely have that many vehicles (not sure what I would get though).

I think the Evo and M3 will be a nice combo, both are fun and practical.

if you're doing coilovers and exhaust on the m3 there is no question, mod the evo.

dropped on the factory 19's, the bimmer will be sweet.

I would mod out the EVO!!!!
That car has the potential to be WAY faster than the M3, and it has AWD!!!! Get the EVO into the 10s!!!

Keep the M3 stock, it can be your daily driver/pimp car.
The EVO will be out there tearin up da track!!!!
Straight line and twisties and dirt!!!

I'd sell the Viper, Acura and Evo, add the $4200, and then maybe you'd have enough $$$ to shove the M5 engine into your M3!

I agree with Crazy (and most others). Lower the M3 and mod the evo. Why you getting rid of the viper?

Decided aftermarket wheels are toast, the oem 19s will look good lowered on the Bilstein's (as most said to stick with).

I just can't get the idea of a 12sec Evo for not "that" much money out of my thick skull.

Hmm, Vishnu is an idea.

But who you kidding, I know if you bought dubs for the m3 that you still would mod the hell out of the Evo
You know me well, but I can't do both.....have one too many commitments coming up as mentioned earlier. Getting everything would be cool though.

Some of you have imaginative ideas.....

beltfed my friend,

if i were you, i would mod the evo into the 11s...than I would buy some dubs for the m3 arnd next march/april...if you get dubs now, you can only have them on for the next 3.5 months, vs next april when you can have them on the car from april to november

I realize the m3 may have the dubs on it all the time since your evo will have awd and can be driven in inclement weather...however, i think you should wait till the winter of 03-04 passes before buying a set of dubs

good luck bro

Want something more practical, I feel guilty getting cars and not using them. I had an 03 SRT-10 on order but cancelled it many months ago, although my salesguy called me last month to ask if I still wanted it (car came in and was still available). Decided that for now I'm not getting enough use out of a wild expensive sports car.

I hear they are doing the 04 SRT-10 in Yellow, that would be cool.

hmmm, since your getting the 19s and will be lowered, you don't need to worry much abt the dubs IMO

however, i originally thought you were getting the factory 18s, and thus was the reason why i was advocating the dubs

You speak the truth, because even more so........the M3 won't be in until Oct.

But, if I don't get wheels now I won't get them later (just how I am). Next year there will be other things that catch my attention.....never ends.:o

the 19" OEM m3 wheels are simply gorgeous. There isn't much out there that would really be worth the money in replacing. Mod the evo is the smart choice IMO

hmm... damn i now see why you ask your question.

i'd say mod the evo if your going to run it a lot at the track. i'm just not an evo fan but i do LOVE it's performance. if not, rim up the m3 and sell the factory 19''s on ebay. someone would pick those up quick. i have seen many 330's around here with m3 rims.

I actually thought about selling the OEM wheels to my buddy's business partner. Guy has an M3 vert with chewed up 19s and wants new ones.

It just seems that most wheels aren't much lighter than the oem 19s, they just look more pimp. The factory wheel is forged and has a polished look, they are definitely nice (not as nice as LMs, but nice).

I'll probably stick with modding the Evo because I just want to see how fast this thing can get.....kind of amusing.

Also, I'm a Rally car freak (had a 99 2.5RS with STi mods).

The Evo is a better car, its just slightly slower (not by much). I think it looks better than the STi, which looks like a WRX with an STi spoiler. The 2.0liter in the Evo is also a proven motor that can handle lots of hp. Only thing on the STi that I want are the gauges, they are definitely trick.

$3k into the Evo should put it in the high 11s area (give or take).
