Sealed my sound better over all, but you want to bump - slot ported. Like I said before, my buddy has a single 8" L7 in a slot ported box in his Eclipse. It will fuggin thump your brains out.

Premade boxes are for little boys. Every box should be made to your exact subs/tuning. Even just having the right volume doesn't mean it's the right box. It's all about the diff lengths, etc. Go have one made.

proaudio22 is right...when you buy your subs, there should be a piece of paper in there with recomended factory information on cubic feet etc for your particular sub.....here's a link to a converter for all the information that you need...

http://ccs.exl.info/calc_box.html

Personally, I think that you should build it yourself. I built mine myself. It took a couple days to build. It's alot of fun, and in my opinion, there's a sense of satisfaction in building your own box.

Make it yourself!!!! It's not that hard at all, and it will cost you a fraction of the cost! My box cost me about $150 at the most....and I get nothing but compliments about it...

18" SoloX 10,000 watts peak. Cut a whole in your roof, and mount it right about your head. Problem solved.

On a more serious note...could you make a bookcase for your room? If not, then you don't need to be making a box for your car. Have a pro do it. Just like we said before: go to a dealer, tell them what you want, and give them your money. Pick up the car later, all is good then.

the jbl amp is stronger, one of the few rare amps that is rated 1200w at 2ohm, the jbl amp is a mono class d amp that will go down to 1 ohm.

I have a 12" L7 in a sealed box powered by 600 watts from a Kicker amp. I couldn't see why you would need anything more. This thing rattles my eardrums. I hope I don't go deaf.
