What Size??

I got a 2001 Type S. I want to put some 18 inch niche rhine rims on it. I was wondering what size tire would be best? Should I go with 40 series or 45 series?

most people use 225 or 235/40-18. the latter is closer to stock diameter.

i'd go with 45 series on 18 inch rim, it'll give the rim a lil more cushion esp if you hit a pothole, let the rubber absorb more shock. and it's closer to stock diameter so it shouldn't throw off your speedometer too much.

Thats what I was thinking. I used to have 40 series on my last car and I got a bent rim from going over a pot hole. I was thinking that a 45 series tire would give me a little more protection against that.

This may sound dumb, but what's the difference in grip between a 40 and 45 series?
