What should I do? I'm Paranoid

I recently purchased my 2002 3.2 CL. When i start my car and put the gear to R, it makes like a click/thump sound. is that normal? also, i'm extremely paranoid whether something is wrong with my tranny or not. does the sound originate fromthe transmission itself or does it come from the hood? I have the extended warranty, if i decide to take it into a dealership to have it checked out...would that cost me any money? i am planning on making a road trip up to san fran i live in orange county, ca (so cal). also, if i purchased the car from Santa Monica Acura...when should I get it serviced next? is there a way for me to get a service record for the prior services on this vehicle? I shouldn't have to worry about getting it serviced anytime soon do I?

its kida late for me what i should have told you in the first threat is I have read AALOT on the tranny problem. I have never heard anything about there being a problem with the reverse normally it is some where between 2 and 4 gears. and most cars so make a bit of a lunge or noise when you shift not so much to worry about but its there i think that with the cl or tl when ever some one feels anything they atomaticly think tranny and with these cars u probably should. sounds to me either your car is just showing that its not brand new or you might consider checking the tranny fuild. From my understanding you can take the car to any acura dealer and have them check the tranny. Just go up to you local shop say you think you might have tranny problems and they will take it on a test drive and then go from there. OH and if you do get a new tranny put in request a loaner car because you are going the trip.-sorry for spelling i think i am going to put that in my text box-

my car also gets into reverse a little hard but mostly in cold weather only and also my car parks on a decline so it doesnt easily lock into reverse as if it was on flat ground. If u find out something else wrong let me know, thanks o and i dont have any other tranny related problems thats y i havent tacken it in to get dat checked out.

lol are you sure its not just your brakes adjusting themselves when you switch from P to R to D etc. I have a click every time I do so.

Have someone listen to your brakes when you switch gears.
