What rims should i get?

I bought some Konig Caffiene's and there was a defect in all of them. The clear coat started to peel away. So the place i bought them from is sending them back to konig and i am getting another set of rims. Up to $1400. For just the rims, not the tires. you guys have any idea of what i should get? I prefer 18's. So if you have an suggestions , any type of wheel, silver or chrome. just give me an idea cause i have been lookin for a few days and i have NO clue. Thanks

Marc

What up Marc. Dude this sucks majorly. I really like Konigs Imagine, but I dont know if you would be willing to risk to go with Konigs again.

spend the extra money to get something better then konigs, those things are POS. They are real prone to damage

have them give you your cash back

Decisions, decisions...

Personally, I've always liked all the wheels Racing Hart has released. Most of the 1pc versions [RH Evolution] cost around $250/17" wheel, 3pc add another $100-125 to each wheel. They're stylish [although the C2's and C5's are VERY trendy, almost every company out there has cheap imitations of them -- but I still think those two are the nicest looking RH wheels, in 18"], while maintaining an acceptable weight. Don't know the exact weights, but I'm pretty sure they're lighter than the stock CL-S wheels, even in 18". Take a look at www.dazzmotorsports.com, they carry Racing Hart as well as many fine "luxury chrome wheels."

Lowenharts are PHAT! You also need a "fat" wallet though, considering that they run at least $750 each for the 19" versions.

If you got the dough, I think Volk Racing or BBS would suit your needs. Volks would probably run around $400 each, while 18" versions of BBS wheels should run around $350 each and probably up to the $600 range. BBS wheels are one of the classiest wheels on the market, IMO. Check out www.mackinindustries.com for Volk Racing and http://www.bbs.com/english/index.html for BBS wheels.

5Zigen has a partner company called Dronell. One of their wheels is available only in 19" chrome. Personally, I think this is the PHATTEST wheel available on the market. Just think of Racing Hart C5-style, but chrome. Big, FAT chrome! With rivets and a deep lip. You'd definitely have the pimpest CL around town. [Well, at least I'd think you would =)] If I remember correctly, my friend quoted me less than 19" Lowenharts. Browse this site for it: www.aktusa.com.

Axis wheels are also nice, kinda trendy though. www.axiswheels.com.

There's probably more, but can't really think of any at the moment.

If you're looking to spend $1400 on just wheels, I would definitely consider the above choices. Get 17" BBS wheels, 18" tuner wheels or 19" chrome wheels, IMO. Don't even consider Konig, Enkei, Tenzo or other "cheap" wheels that cost less than a tire. Remember, you get what you pay for.

My $.02.

I noticed the Racing Hart M6 while browsing the Dazz Motorsports site, does anyone have pics of this wheel on a CL-S? The 1 piece M6.

I agree with Ronin completely. The only wheels that I would ever think about getting would either be Racing Hart or Volk. I just ordered a set of Volk GT-Ns (gunmetal). I'm expecting some time in the end of June. You definitely get what you pay for. Plus, the top names have a better quality control process. Stronger construction means less chance of bent rims/damage to car.

Just curious, how much does a set of Toyo's proxies cost for 17"?

Could you link or post a picture of those rims? Coooool

Toyo Proxes T1-S 235/45-ZR17 tires should run approximately $150-160 each, I believe the 225's are a few dollars less. 235's should work better if you have a 7.5" or greater offset.

Okay...do you mean you're trying to find better looking wheels than those stated above, or are you having a hard time deciding which one looks the best?

This is my order of preference (for 5-spoke wheels):

-Racing Hart C5, 18" 3pc (Oddly, no one has them on this board -- they would look pimp on the CL)
-Dronell I or II, 19" chrome
-Racing Hart M5, 19" 3pc
-Volk Racing AV3

Yes, the C5s are nice. I wanted those originally. It's just that Racing Hart discontinued making them. I tried looking around for them but to no avail. Also, any sets you find (if you can) will be selling for a high premium.

Here is a pic of the Volk AV3.....
http://www.zing.com/album/?id=429269...9597467&idx=28

Bad news is my tire guy said the SSR GT3 does not come in bs/offset that will fit the CLS.......

I'm still looking for pics of any car with the SSR GT1's:
http://www.zing.com/album/?id=429269...0869919&idx=21

Does anyone have a pic of the Kosei K1 racing wheel???? The wheel guy told me these are light weight(16pds 17") and priced good.
