what is rattling

alright this is my brother's integra

what is the rattling piece?

"what is the shark looking piece? a catalytic converter?
-- the front tip of it is rattling like nuts
it's driving me crazy. but i don't think anythings broken just possibly a bolt got knocked loose from hitting these giant pot holes left over from winter storm"

edit : "make sure you mention it's the front tip of the slotted shark thing and it starts as soon as car is turned on"

might be a loose heat shield? you might be able to buy a clamp at trak auto or some car shop and just clamp it.

Yes, assuming it's the heat shield you can't do a real fix - it was tack welded (not bolted) on at the factory. Either clamp it, and sooner or later the other spots will come loose too, or take it off completely. It doesn't do anything except maybe help prevent grass fires if you park in tall stuff that's dry.
