15.3-15.6...on average. Your results may vary.

Empty your tank and remove all unnecessary weight.....oh......and keep the heater on full blast to remove as much heat from the engine compartment and coolant as possible.

....and a 2.4t is usually 15.8-16.1.

hey Satin, i saw ur sign have headers, how do they performed on the car??? Cuz i am thinking to get them, i know they do have LOTS of gain on a TypeS, but i wonder how good will it be on the CLP? What you think?? Worth the money? whats the biggest different when you driving around, like what rpm or whatsoever?? Thanks alot!!!

Actually, headers on a Type-S (J32a2) are much more effective.....estimated 15-17 hp gross to a std 3.2 and up to 30hp gross to a Type-S. The tuned induction increases air into the engine as well as increases to scavenging of exhaust gases. Therefore, the Type-S engine can utilize the volume of the headers more efficiently.

To answer your question:

1) No, headers are the single worst mod you can make to a standard 3.2 on a dollar-to-hp basis. Makes more noise than power. It does make a difference......but not at $75.00/hp. Save your cash and use it on new wheels.

2) A short-ram with heat shield is more effective on our car (unlike CAI on a Type-S) There are physiscs involved that I sorta understand. However, with all intakes if you tell me you can feel 3-5 hp......you're full of shit. $120.00 is worth it for the sound and lifetime filter alone.

3) Denso Iridium's are pricey (6-8/plug) but really help with throttle response.....not power.

In short: the CL-P is not far off a Type-S stock.......but I don't think my mods were worth the cash. Spend it on wheels/tires/srpings/sways.

They spin really really fast when you start your engine, and they are covered with belts that are actually driving the camshafts and internals inside your engine. You pretty much need them to drive your car with.

Hi guys,

I want to get an AEM short ram intake for my 2001 CL Type S. AEM doesn't list it on their website, only for the 3.2 CL. I'm assuming that it should fit exactly the same way, but can someone verify this for me? I love the sound of the short ram.... =)

Thanks!
Dave

they make one for the typeS, do NOT get the one for the premium because the typeS has a larger throttle body, and actually it is on AEM's website, heres a dyno even
