Get out of jail free cards

Police give them to family (and friends).

i'm not sure if this is the same thing...but i gave to one of them police charity things ..$100...and i got 2 stickers...PBA which stands for Police Benevolent Association. i'm not sure if this is the same thing as the other PBA cards the other folks talk about...but it has saved my ass once. Fairfax county cop let me go after i made an illigal u-turn right infront of my place. he saw the sticker, checked my license and registration and let me go...saying..."Thanks for your support".

cards usually given to friends and family of a police officer. when stopped for a traffic violation, the officer should accept the pba card in exchange for the violation. he then can call on the officer who issued the card. its like they owe each other favors.

I got a call a few days ago and the operator basically said the three magic words: "police ... blah blah... donate ... blah blah... STICKER"

So I coughed up the dough again ($35), and I got a different sticker. Last time it was the PBA sticker, this time it is the FOP - Fraternal Order of Police. YOu get an 'active patron' sticker that you can put on your windshield.

I haven't gotten a ticket yet to test out how well they work.

I haven't heard aything the PBA card. But my dad's friend, a Sherrif of a local police dept. gave me a his card and wrote on the back:
"Mr. XXXXX is a good friend of the Redwood City police department and any leniency taken would be extremely appreciated."

When I get pulled over, I just hand the police office my drivers license and the card. Most of the time the officer just checks the registration and insurance and lets me go. But one cop gave me a ticket a month ago (fucing bastard). It all depends what mood the cop is in.
