What needs to be done if a car is bought in Canada?

I mean is there any other taxes that need to be paid, is it worth it? Should i trust canadians since Amir lives there....?

as u can see my sign below..my cls is canada model that mean i bought my cls in vancouver,canada..and i am a us citizen...so i still drive it with vancouver b.c plate on and i have the icbc insurance too....so there is no difference to me....but if u want to transfer the title to usa..u will need to pay tax for it..for how much?u will need to talk to the border officer and your local automobile department...i do not want to end up paying tax on both countries..so i do not want to change my cls' title and i will keep it as a canada car..moreover,vancouver b.c and seattle are just next by.and i go to vancovuer a lot..so makes no difference to me at all only one thing i need to tell u..all the newer cars from canada..they all come with day time running light ..my cls too...

Ask your friends in Detroit if they bother to waste their time looking for vehicles to buy in Windsor.

Just FYI...

http://www.seattleinsider.com/partne...nada_cars.html

Also, Chrysler recently announced that they would not honor any warranties on gray market 2003 Canadian cars and trucks in the US.

Ford and GM might go the same way, although they are just pressuring dealers to stop the practice at this time.

I'm not sure about Bimmers, but if you're looking to get a NAV system you may be out of luck. The CL's up here cannot be purchased with a Navi (no DVD has been mapped). Maybe those over-priced Bimmers are though (at a huge optional price tag!)

Acura US cars get now Canadian Warranty and vice versa.
However, we have NORTH AMERICAN roadside assiastance. GO figure.
Cars in Canada will be roughly $5-7k Cad cheaper than US ones. Thats why many Canadian dealers are supposedly told not to sell to Americans.
