What is it like at the limits?
My car is fairly well broken in and I've been driving a bit more sporting lately (where it is safe).
I am looking for advice on cornoring limits... 6 speed, no VSA. I have the stock suspension and tires at this time...
When you pass that line what happens? Sudden and violent oversteer? Can you control it? Is it different under acceleration (HLSD)????
Want a bit of advice before I go exploring.

stock suspension watch out for highspeed turns. I know more than one person, including myself, that have lost control doing very normal highway turns at only 65 or 75 MPH on the freeway. Ask sidemarker about this. He saw me spin out pretty bad going only 45 MPH accelerating uphill around a long 30 degree curve. He's lost control on the freeway goin only 75 with a few people in the car. First thing to do is get some CT Springs and drop that center of graviy as well as sways and tires if for anything than just safety if you're going to drive aggresively.

Well today, I was driving ~75 and about to change lanes in moderate trafffic, when some asswipe behind me, who should have been able to clearly see me preparing to change (I SIGNALED!) chenged lanes at the exact same time. Luckily, I caught him in my mirror, and quickly swerved back to my lane. I felt the tail sliding around A BIT, but nothing too ridiculous.

I was busting a turn and came around too fast. The ass started sliding out and went sideways. Couldn't compensate fast enough and hit a wall. Not too hard though. i slowed down enough. It happens very quick and when it does, your pretty much going for a ride. What ever you do, don't hit the brakes hard. It will only make the ass come out faster.

Where was this at Darrin? I've also noted that high speed stability starts getting a little floaty above 120 mph, but I haven't really tossed it around at legal speeds to see how it responds to quicky manuevers.

The interested thing is that I seem to feel two stages of suspension working when I properly enter a corner - the initial roll and impending slide, then the car seems to "hunker down" and bite into the corner. It can be a bit disturbing until you begin to expect it.

If you've got the stock tires they usually squeal pretty loudly before they break loose. That's a good thing when you're trying to learn the limits of a car. Some Hi-perf tires don't give you as much advance warning before they break loose (that's bad).
Slowly bring up the speed as you search for the car's (and your) limits. I've got a couple of favorite corners that I like to push the car around when there's no traffic (8/10's).
I think the biggest thing is getting comfortable with driving the car at speed. My cls is my first FWD car that i've owned, so it took me awhile (I'm still learning too), to get used to the FWD setup.

I notice this most often on backroads that are not banked at all, or if it's a curve on a little hill (up and down). You're shifting the car's weight away from four contact patches to primarily 1, maybe two (outside front primary, outside rear to a lesser degree). This'll happen in any car.

But note I have never made the stock tires squeal. Not been that fast.

Could also be because I seem to have something loose in the rear end, which *clanks* every time I make a left hand turn or take a left bend aggressively.
