What kind of times are lightly modded CLS running?

I have a 3.5SE 5-spd Altima, and I am lightly modded. Actually I wouldn't even really consider what I have to be modded, but the car is not the exact same it was from the factory. Here are my two best times so far, both ran on the same day.

R/T...........1.021
60............2.189
330..........6.121
1/8...........9.341
MPH..........75.29
1000........12.122
1/4..........14.455
MPH..........96.73

R/T...........0.879
60............2.207
330..........6.106
1/8...........9.307
MPH..........75.58
1000........12.079
1/4.........14.404
MPH..........97.08

by the way my light mods are better tires (Bridgestone Potenza SO3 PP's) on stock wheels, and a timing advance. Otherwise I am stock, I made these runs with full interior, everything still in the trunk and a quarter tank of gas. Weighed at the track and came in at 3186lbs without driver, and 3388lbs with driver.

So lets hear it CLS guys, I specifically say lightly modded because I know there is a crap load of mods available for you guys including a supercharger, I know those guys run low 14's to mid 13's easy. I want to hear from the regular Joe's like me.

My best is 14.65s @ 96 MPH with my CLS 5-speed Auto. First, I need better tires and lighter 18" rims.

In The last week my buddy (Bulldog01) run 14.2s at 98 MPH at same track where I run New England Dragway. He has less mods than mine.

Best NA CLS 5-speed Autos runs 14.1s . Some CLS 6-speed will run below at 13.9s.

There is a NA CL-S with 3.5L block that runs 13.7s in 1/4 mile.

For more info make a search: drag racing 1/4 mile runs.

What mods do you have Nashua? We have a few 3.5SE autos in the 14.5-14.6's as well. That extra gear you guys have makes a big difference.

Waddy,

On the CLS, It is true we have 5 Speed. However, the only ones that count are 1-2-3. The 4th and 5th are overdrive gears. Acceleration is strong all the way to the redline of the 3rd at 105-110 MPH. Then, we hit the "wall" no decent acceleration.

My mods are in my sig below. My best times were only with CAI and Iridium Spark Plugs and NO headers Nor Pulleys at that time. Check the link for times.

4th gear eats it in our cars. Slower than a motherf*cker.

waddy,

lightly modded I would say that the CLS/TLS can hit 14.6-14.9 and by lightly modded I mean CAI/Icebox and exhaust (exhaust doesn't give much). Moderately modded (headers/icebox or CAI/pulleys/wheel and tire combo) there are some in the 14.1-14.6 range depending on mods and driver skill. These are autos. As Nashua said, 6-speeds can do anywhere from 13.9-14.4 modded and 14.2-14.7 stock. blown they are in the mid to high-13s (except for the turboed CLS6 that ran a 12.9).

I ran a 14.6 @96 with just headers and intake but no traction and little track experience. I think with a little prep I can get a 14.5 at 96-97 mph.

Nice ferizzo,

It's unfortunate that you guys don't get much from exhaust. The exhaust and intake are probably the two biggest chokepoints on the Altima. This was done to make sure we didn't beat up on "big brother" Maxima too easily or often, those mods together when done right are worth 15-20HP @ the crank and 10-15HP at the wheels. So once I remedy those issues I should be in the 13.9-14.3 range.

I really want to break 14.4 before I mod though, just so I can I say I did, with a 14.404 I feel like I am really close to a 14.35 before I/E.
