I did a seach, & got alot of things about the tranny that are making me very weary of the CL-S. I'm hard on my cars. VERY HARD!!! I put on over 30K miles in a year too. I don't want a dead tranny.

If you can, then get the 2002? Hopefully the same problems don't show up.

I think every new car nowadays is having paint issues. Every board I've been on in the last few months has people complaining about paint.... IS300, Maxima, Volkswagen Passat and Jetta, so I don't pay to much attention to this. I've only had the car 2 1/2 months, but so far, so good. As for the tranny issue, you're probably looking at about 1% of all CL and CL-S' having this problem. Yes it sucks, but I don't think that number is any higher then any other car....

Oh c'mon now, what do you search for?
"problem"? "fix"? I'm all for newbies
using the search engine, but there are things that are not reasonably searchable.

Weary is one thing I cannot remember anybody feeling about the CL. You don't want a dead tranny? Well thats a unique view.

If your VERY HARD on all of your cars than why would you want a terrific highway cruiser?

CLS bigest problem IMHO is that it's like soaring eagle, effortlessly flies at 80+MPH!!!

You would get a lot Tix in not time, V1 is a requirement not an option.

It's not that, I want reliabality. My other cars have been American. History's of trannny problems. I figured this time I'd get an import. I do like the looks, & the interior. This car will be leased for sure, so I guess I have to lighten up a bit, but I don't expect an import to have tranny problems like some of the posts I have read. That scares me! Are those just 1 time problems, or do most CL-s's have tranny problems. I also read threads on how the paint is bad. Chips really easy & stuff. Since most of my driving is HW, & I live in a state with high speed limits, & alot of bugs, I'm concerned.

My current car is like that I have a 2000 Chrysler 300M. I had the V1. It was too big, & I though it didn't work that well. I have since got the escort 8500 & that seems to work alot better.
