Its a J32A2 for the Type-S, J32A1 for the Premium. Type-S engine is SOHC 60 degree V-6, 4 valves/cycle, alum block/heads making 260 horsepower @ 6100 and 232 torque @ 3500. It has a specific output of 81.2hp per liter. It features dual stage induction plenum with a trio of electronically controlled butterfly valves that opens at 3800rpm. VTEC engages at 4800 rpm. The J32A2 also features spun cast cylinders. Thats all I can think of right now...

Is transverse mounting used to make the exhaust free-er flowing?

First off, no such thing as an Accord Type R in Japan. However, they do have an Accord "Euro-R", which is Europe's Accord Type R (ATR)...confused yet?? Evidently the Euro ATR wasn't up to HOJ's spec's of a real bracket touring racer with the branded name of Type R, but it most definitely wasn't an SiR-T either, so they named it Euro-R. Same thing with the Torneo I believe, but not sure what the engine is on that. Check out HOJ's website for more info. Anyone else care to add, please do. Oh, and I'm not totally sure, but I believe the Euro-R has an f20b engine. Definitely not a v6. It's a DOHC i4 rated at 212-216 bhp or thereabouts. Definitely not an H series engine either (H22). It's an F series though for sure...
