Which brake pads are best for not creating so much heat?

I was looking at some that are listed as Graphite Metallic brake pads. Are these OK?

Also for rotors, what benefit would Nickel/Zinc plating offer besides cosmetic?

the newest rage in brake technology is ceramic pads. look around and you'll find a few vendors. the ceramics are supposed to work fine with the stock rotors. you can also go slotted or cross-drilled. but the ceramic pads are supposed to generate much less heat.

Ceramic does not absorb heat. Thats why they ceramic coat headers. It reflects heat. So all the heat will stay in the header pipes and go out the exhaust rather than be absorbed by the pipes and given off into the engine compartment.

Same idea with brakes. Instead of store the heat in the pads it will give it off and be blown away by wind\good ventilation. However you cannot use full ceramic pads on the street. They are for race use only. There are some ceramic blend pads out there, one being the Axxis Ultimate's .. I have them on my car with Rotora slotted rotors. They are a kevlar and ceramic blend.
