Is what I'm doing bad?

Everytime I drive my CL-P I hit 100+MPH. Usually on the way to the golf course it is 15 miles each way. I'll gun it a lot and idle in 5th at 70 then drop it to third and take it to 120. Also I hit over 5500 RPM's about 10-15 times each day. Is this bad should I stop or is there something I can do to keep doing this and not worry as much. Thanks, Anthony

oh yes there is a big difference... i drove both before i decided on which one to get. i thought the CL-P would be enough... but once i drove the S... it was over

I am like PGA cept with a CLS!!!! I VTEC about 8-10 times a day usually shifting not past 6000, but still. for you PGA... switch to synthetic!!!!!!! that is the biggest and best advise I would say and also throw in at least a K&N filter or better yet get the AEM intake baby!! I would like to hear more dicussion on how often others on this board VTEC and how you all drive in general and what you think of ramifications if any.

Allright no more CL-P/CL-S comparisons I get it hahahah.

Yeah I drive like a freakin nut but that's allright.
My only concern is can my car take this abuse. That's all i'm concerned about.
Installing the Intake Friday. I'll let you know how it goes. Anthony

The beauty of CLS is that it is a car with dual personality.

You can safely and quietly cruise at 70 (2k rpms only) and if some one is annoying you or you would like to piss off a couple in a bimmer convertible, (SS + 2nd stage Intake, and VTEC) will get you in triple digit speed realy quick...

He he I am scared to do it daily, but once a while I can not resist to blow off some bimmers doors when I zip by

My cars begs to be driven past 5,500rpms so who am I to argue? As long as you let the engine warm up before maxing out the revs you should be OK. Just make sure you do you scheduled maint every 3,500 miles.

I wouldn't be too concerned about driving this car hard. But you need to be sensible about it like others have said:

1) NEVER EVER EVER drive a car hard until it's warmed up
2) Use synthetic oil
3) Change tranny fluid every 15k
4) Don't drive the car really hard and then shut it off. Drive easy the last 2-3 miles.

Keep on those fluids and have no fear. Honestly, I can't help but rocket around in my CLS. Just keep up on the fluids.
