What is a "hub ring"

Hey guys what is the "hub ring" on this chart, i was gona swap my CL rims to by buddies 92 legend, and both have a 5x114.3 dimension and his car has a 65 offset while the CL has 55+. But his "hub ring" is is a 70 compared to our 64.1 like every other Acura! Am I gona have any problems?

a lot of people with aftermarket wheels dont use hub rings. it'll work, but its not safe. you know that hole in the middle of the wheel? the size of it changes depending the on car. a hub ring allows you to put a rim with a big center hole, on a car that was designed for a rim with a smaller center hole.

ya follow?
