what is hp & torque on 3.5 stock

I am thinking about going to the 3.5 need to no hp & tork stock.
I started at 191 hp and 185 torque.

In other words, about 15 - 20 WHP and about 20 - 25 lb/ft over the standard bolt-ons.

I think the s/c is a better bet w/ the high boost pulley

They both have their pros and cons.

You could probably keep your warranty easier with the supercharger. Some dealers may be okay with it since its comptech, but you could also take it off before you go.

With the 3.5L upgrade the dealer may not notice since the only differents in apearance would be the code on the block. If they do figure it out your probably screwed though.

Performance wise it think the 3.5L is faster. Im not sure what automatic supercharged TL/CL are running i thought low 14s. I believe TypeR is in the 13's.

Disadvantage for the 3.5L is, atleast with what dean was selling you need 93 octane. Here in WA they only sell 92. In cali usually 91.

Big plus for the 3.5L upgrade is you can change your badging to 3.5CL Type S

3.5L with the 10.2:1 compression version and supercharger is the way to go though.

Interesting take but 45 - 50 WHP > 15 - 20 WHP gains.

typeR's excellent times are a culmination of great work by him in getting the launch down, preparation of his vehicle and a good day. The only blown times I have recently seen are ModAddict's of a 13.8 @ 104 which is 2 - 3 MPH higher than typeR's best trap. This was done with no prep and cargo in the vehicle.

Show me up ? I ran 13.9's all day yesterday at Byron, you are gonna need a 100 shot of juice to show me up BUDDY !!! You still have this crazy notion that you can beat me in cold temps? You forget that ALL cars benefit from the cold temps, NOT just your car !!!

All the tracks are closed during the week now so our ONLY option is Sat or Sun, lets keep an eye on the weather and decide which day to go closer to the weekend.

Your car is felling "preppy" ????

Later - Andy

dude, you think I'm high, but I think I can give you supercharged boys a run for your money. oh, and my car is feeling preppy, I did a couple of WOT runs, and yes she is going to trap high, high 90's, trust me. with that type of trap speed, I'll sure as hell will be playing around with you all day long! :P

tool, its really not entirely about showing you up, its really more about respect. you think the 14.7 timeslip was somehow manufactured, and my car isn't that fast. the truth is I ran high 14's(2.3-2.4 60's so basically mid 14's if I had traction), with high 90's trap speeds, all day long that day, and my car CAN and WILL do it again. and just in case your wondering, a basically stock accord with just CAI running that fast is insane! I've never heard of a CLS with CAI trapping at 97mph, in any weather. and they are surpposed to be "so much faster than us"

Why must you always come across as an imbecile?? There are no guarantees and to state one is ignorant. If you do run good times and are happy with them; that is great and I like to see another Honda J-Series motor doing well. But you seem to have another agenda with your statements. And yes, there have been basically stock CL-S trap at 97 MPH; go back in time and read.

Don’t feel too happy as you do live in one of the fastest areas of the country.

As a side note and something I never understood; I found it extremely ironic that someone who drives an Accord had torque in his user name. Please tell me this was meant as a joke??

I don't know about your "agenda", but as for me, I'm just looking for some respect. ever since I bought the dam car(remeber it was you guys that recommended it for me), it has been the brunt of countless put downs and flame threads. I just don't understand why their is so much hate towards an accord, when we all drive an accord? :shakehd:

yeah... that was austin's race with me but he was stocking some heavy duty sound equipment not to mention running on stock tires and a lower compression set of pistons that were forged and prepped for boost/juice... he doen't race that much so he's not that great at his launch yet either.

mattg: yeah... he's been finishing up his thesis for his computer engineering degree. the project is a 7" touch screen replacing his stock headunit that runs climate control, navigation, wifi internet, music, and soon to be engine management. the computer/system/screen are all in right now and it's in it's final stages for all the other settings. the supercharger comes in this week and we're installing it either this w/end or sometime between my crazy 3 exams next week. afterwards we're going to drive up to Nitrous Express to see if they'll throw a bit of sponsorship his way (and see if I can reap some rewards just for being there) so that he can be running direct port. UR has had some custom settings for his supercharger pulley to hopefully push 12PSI.

That's all I know from what he's told me. I dunno if I said everything correctly but that's to the best of my knowledge.

HUGE MISTAKE; he should go with a turbo to get that amount of boost!!! Not to mention without an intercooler!!!

To make 12PSI on a 3.5L would require turning the Magnuson/Eaton MP62 blower 3.1 times the engine speed. At 7k revs the blower would be turning 21,700 RPM which is nearly 50% higher than the designed limit.

In addition, the temperature increases will be on the order of about 280 F which on a hot summer day could lead to discharge temps of about 400+ F. This will kill performance and potentially the motor. I state this as I see no mention of an intercooler nor is one available (yet, it is almost done )

Lastly, he may be duplicating efforts as we already have pulleys being available in a variety of sizes.

intercooler is in the works as well... my mistake... please don't make any inferences on his work just by my comments. I'm not fully knowledgable on what his plans are quite yet. But if you do'nt mind scalbert, when we're working on something new there we'll look to you for some advice.

Sounds good...

BTW, is he aware that an intercooler is almost completed?? I'm picking up the main plenum today and will test fit it on a CL and TL within the next week or so.

Here ya go:

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...hreadid=111103

Is he considering going with a FMIC, as in air/air?? If so, that is also not a good idea to do with a roots style blower.

I think what he was talking about was an aftercooler. I'm not sure exactly what that consists of.
