I would highly recommend wrapping them before the install. It cuts down on the tinny sound you get from the thin walls, but you still get more rumble than stock when you give it some gas. You also will hold more heat in the pipes which will help the hot exhaust gas flow more freely. It took me 2 rolls of 50'x1" wrap to cover the whole kit.
How long did it take you. I have a long breaker bar and a nice torque wrench should i be ok. I dont have my floor jack and jack stands, can I rent those from pepboys or checker or kragen?

I don't actually turn a wrench unless it's on my bicycle, it's too expensive to fix the shit I fuck up.

I have a factory tech who does the work on the side, I plan it, he builds it. It probably took him an 1 1/2- 2 hrs. plus about 30 minutes to allow the wrap to stop smoking. He just did it in the shop so he had access to all of his tools as well as a lift. It will probably take a little longer with the tools you are using and that you can't walk freely under the car.

I always thought mine sounded like a G35 after the headers with the stock exhaust. I also had an AEM CAI on it. Check it out:

When did you order yours? How long did it take for them to email you back?
I ordered mine two weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet.

Did you go through the SSautochrome site or the XSpower site? I went through XSpower and was a little nervous about the shabby set up of their order system, but I did get them about 4-5 days after I ordered.

Guys, don't worry.....When I ordered mine I never got an email or tracking number from them.... a few days later, it arrived Give it a few days, it'll get to you......and when you get those bad boys in, hang on! I'm getting ready to install a UR pulley this weekend and that should bump up the fun factor a few notches. Can't wait to test drive it after the install...

Don't expect much at first unless you disconnect the computer, otherwise it takes about a week for the computer to adjust. As far as SS goes, don't worry, you'll get them.

Huh? You mean the headers? What do you have to do to make them work immediately?

After I did the install, I did disconnect the battery. The first thing I did notice was the engine ran very smooth, especially when the A/C was turned on. It didn't strain as with the stock pulley. As I test drove, the car felt much more responsive and accelerating felt powerful and smooth. Next to the header mod, this has to be the best upgrade you can do to your car!

Im confused, will they bolt up to the stock exhaust on the Type-S or do you have to do a whole system? If it does bolt up to the stock system, is it still worth doing just the headers or should i wait until i can afford the whole exhaust?
Thanks guys! I can tell this car is going to cost me a ton in mods isnt it? lol I just cant be happy with stock.

It will work with the stock exhaust. It's been proven that an aftermarket exhaust will net very little gains. A cat-back is really only for the sound. The stock headers are the only thing choking the exhaust flow.

I've emailed them recently and they aren't making them and not saying if they will ever again. Sold my new pair for $250 a while ago. Just keep your eyes out for a pair in the Black Market section.
