Okay guys, I know on most autos you usually dyno in 3rd gear, but what about a 5spd auto? I guess you put it in SS and in 3rd gear so it holds it no matter what, then punch it from 2k all the way to redline and see what she does eh?

I might get my car dynoed next Saturday, a autocross meet at a dyno locally.

 

that's exactly what you do, you can get a good reading from about 3k onwards because of the TQ flare up which will cause a spike in the tq curve but it isn't indicitive of peak torque even tho it might appear that way...

 

You always want to run a car in the gear nearest to a 1:1 ratio. In our case that does happen to be 3rd.

North Central. 281/1604 I live in. The only dyno I know about is at Team Extreme (use to be called Texas Jam) off Nacodoches road. The local SASCA Autocross group which I have been part of for years, is having a dyno session next Saturday. I plan on going. I have to sign up now though so I can get in line. It's off the old Nacodoches road between Naco Perrin and 410. Right next to the old rail road tracks.
