What are the fastest sedan candidates?

Here are some fastest stock sport sedans I could think of:

BMW M5 394hp
Lexus GS430 300hp
Audi S4 Quattro 250hp
Acura 3.2TL Type S 260hp
Nissan Maxima 255hp
Infiniti Q45 340hp
M-B E55 AMG 342hp
Subaru Impreza WRX 227hp
BMW 330i 225hp
Jaguar X-Type 231hp
M-B C32 AMG 349hp

They are all fast sedans with 0-60mph time less than 6.5 seconds, wish to see some more in the soon future.

You have to go with the M5 for 5 series sedans. 394hp & 368 lb-ft, 0-60 in 4.8, 1/4 mile in 13.7 sec. Now that's a sedan! You also can add the E55 AMG Mercedes. 349hp & 391 lb-ft, 0-60 in 5.4, nice!

I'd be careful with the new Q45. Infiniti is really taking it up the ass regarding their 0-60 claim.

Let's be about normal everyday ones...not in-house tuner enhanced. So, no Ms, Ss, or AMGs.
So instead of the M5, we use the 540
C32, well...forget it now...
S4, forget that too.

Check out the new Car & Driver. Whatever problem they were having seems to be corrected now. Also they didn't test the q45 with the Sport Package...which btw looks very sweet in person (the 18" with 245). In that C&D edition look at the base price and price tested on the sedans.

Prelim times seem really good (low 6's and under 15 1/4 for the 3.5L) but it isn't out yet so we gotta wait and see.

But it is going to be the best bang for the buck by far...plus a lot of current max mods will be ported over. This car (in 5spd) will put a lot of expensive cars to shame for sure!

Duh!
The post is "fastest sedans" not fasted coupes or two doors. I guess some people didn't read the thread title or the initial post.

The CL-S would be up against the M3, New Z, New RX-8 etc.. I'm sure it will do fine against those two door cars.....

Anyone got numbers for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII, and the Subaru WRX STi?

Those are small sedans with an published "280" hp...

You can't get them here though...

How is an AMG a tuner car? They are part of Daimler-Chrysler AG. BMW's M Division is even more confusing because they have never been separate?

It's not that big a deal I guess, but you're making up random rules :p

If you went through the site like I said, there were 4 sedans on the site. And those happen to be the 4 quickest sedands out on the marker right now.

Oh I didn't forget CL but it's a two door car and this topic is about 4 door sedan.

I didn't forget about the E36 M3 4 door also but it's not a new car, so....hehe....

Is new Altima that fast? I don't know but I think it's possible bacause it's using the same engine but it doesn't have the 6 speed manual used in the 2002 Maxima though.

Nissan/Infiniti has admitted to a somewhat jaded cert. (If need be, I'll find where I read about it this week).

There is no "corrected problem". They admit that they certified the 0-60 number in a stripped down version of the car (hundreds of pounds lighter), in perfect climate conditions, with (get this), a very "light" driver. When the car rags get their test vehicles, they are usually loaded up versions.

Nissan said that they stand by their number. And that this is why no one has been able to come to within 3/4's of a second of their 0-60 claim in the Q45.

Now Scorpius would you rather have 3 Buicks or 1 Jag?

BTW the comment about the automatic Altima. I don't know if this just applies for FI but doesn't an automatic usually take a manual all day at the track? Unless some F1 racer is shifting.

Not really random rules...if that is the case, you should include TRD camrys with the SC...it comes with a factory warranty and is part of TRD. ...just trying to have it so we have general cars...rather than special limited edition ones..

E55 also has low-13's 1/4 mile time... And so is M5...

If we are talking about FATEST 4DR right now, I would say it's C32 AMG... as I have seen 0-60 time done in as low as 4.5 sec(by some UK auto magazines)...

Compact Size Sedan: C32 AMG
Mid-Size: M5 & E55
Full-Size: A8 W12 & S63 AMG

They are currently the fastest 4DR you can buy in each class....
