15.6, if he spins all the way thru 1st...or he leaves his VSA on...15.4~15.3......absolute slowest. Even with VSA on..and in auto mode...15.3. If he puts it in SS and forgets to do the 2-3 shift...he'll lose a lil time.

My slowest 1/4 time is about 20 minutes, and I got I/H/E, damn that was slow.
Maybe because it was rush hour and some 18 wheeler toppled over spilling timber all over.

I ran a 11.4 in the 1/8th (not sure about the 1/4 time) at E-town during Acura wars. I spun almost the entire 1/8th at the track. It was caught on video. But then I ran a 9.31 (~14.4 1/4 mile) shortly afterwards, so the launch is the only place the CLS can mess up

Have you ran your spec yet? any times?
my buddy has one with exhaust and CAI and he runs anywhere from a 9.8-10.3 in the 1/8th. he hasn't done the quarter yet.
I think you have a chance if you just race him till like 60, but after that the auto CL-S will probably pull ahead. Don't even attemp to race the 6-speed!

lol is the 350z alot faster than your cl-s? stock for stock?congrats on your new ride!!!
It's definitely faster than than the CL. It's a 6 speed and it has significantly more torque which make it faster. It's a different feel than the CL, as the CL had great power at 5500+ rpm, where the Z has a much stronger mid-range.
I've seen a stock Z do the 1/4 in 13.8. I'm taking it to the track one day to see how I do.

Revving at 9K...
Hey, I went to test drive the 350Z this last weekend at our local Nissan dealership, and I saw a black SE-R spec V on the lot, so I as them if I could drive that too.. Damn, I think that car is over rated..
I mean.. the Idea of having a 2.5L with "C-TEC"?? or "E-TEC" (can't remember now..) is cool, until you drive it. The car has a red link lower than the CLS, and the varieble timing control only last like 1200 rpms.. (I think I felt the switch over between 4.5K-4.7K) and the car red lines around 6K.. a couple of times I actually shifted to late because I was trying to feel the switch over, but it didn't last long enough for me to feel it.
I really don't think it would be faster than a CLS auto..

slowest I needed a sundial
cause I blew the tranny on my old Accord racing and I coasted most of the 1/4 mile because all it would do is rev up and it would put the power to the ground. plus all my buds were kidding me . they said d@mn i think that was a 10 1/4 time. one of my other friends said yeah a 10 minute 1/4 time.

I'm pretty sure I have the slowest timeslip:
Setting:
Las Vegas Motor Speedway, dry weather, high 80's
Car Setup:
AEM CAI
Comptech headers
stock wheels w/ Toyo Proxes T1-S (bald w/ no tread left, 20k miles)
full tank of gas
SS mode (wasn't aware that it was in SS, bounced off the rev limiter for a while)
I think I forgot to turn off my VSA
1st run ever:
R/T...1.419
60'...2.439
330...6.781
1/8...10.220
MPH...72.99
1000...13.352
1/4...15.985
MPH...85.89
2nd run:
R/T...0.748
60'...2.078
330...0.000
1/8...9.809
MPH...68.63
1000...12.907
1/4...15.525
MPH...83.89
I'd say the bad times are partly my fault, partly the track's fault. Something is definitely wrong with LVMS. A modded ITR ran 15.6, and a turbo lude ran high 17's. The usual imports (Si, GSR, etc.) all ran high 16's. A few domestic guys ran low 15's high 14's.
